  1. We had quite a bit of rain yesterday and even had the tornado sirens going off in Cotter. When I emptied my rain gauge this morning there was 5" in it. The river looks like the muddy Missouri river right now here in Cotter and a friend told me the bridge on Denton Ferry road washed out again last night. That means a long detour thru Monkey Run (yes that is a real place with a not so nice, steep gravel grade road) for the folks that live north of the bridge and all the fishing resorts up that way. Also anyone that wants to launch at Wildcat access. This morning I thought the only clear wat

  3. Pretty sure it's two ropes and you throw him over the bow with one rope on each side and drag the offender the length of the ship. It's particularly rough to get keelhauled when you serve on an Aircraft Carrier.

  6. I loved fishing walleye on Table Rock. I wish I still lived there. However, if I lived where you do, I would hire Bill Babler or Buster Loving to guide you in the K Dock area. While in the boat, pick their brains, not only on places to fish, but also on where, when, and what water levels you can or should put in. A few hundred dollars will save you years in learning local knowledge.

  7. I’ve talked to Vernon in the past and he is really a nice guy. He just has that cloud jinx hanging over him. We should use it to our advantage. Invite him when we need rain. Just a thought. Mike

  8. To those of you who donate to kids. I hope you all realize how appreciated you are. I was that "kid". So that being said, let me say THANK YOU for them. They may never get to thank you, as I will never know who helped me. But, I do know there were many more than I'll ever know about.

  9. Had fun day walleye fishing inspite of the wind. Had 15 keepers and 5 shorts total. Nothing big 18 1/2 biggest. Most 15 1/2 to 16. Bottom bouncing in 16 to 20 ft of water. Crawler harnesses.

  12. They opened 5 gates this morning at 9 am. Plus one unit bringing the total to 15,000 cfs. I guess they've got another turbine down for maintenance again. Babler and I were up there when they opened it. Saw one spoonbill floating. No shad... but all last spring when they opened 5 we didn't see any shad. It's a crap shoot. I'll go up this evening and do One Cast up there and see if they like white.

Level of brutality depends on the condition of the hull. You really want one that's been in the water for a long time and has a nice crusty layer of barnacles.

  21. After a rain over the weekend, we're seeing an increase of flow from Table Rock here on Lake Taneycomo. The release rate was a half unit or about 3,400 cubic feet per second, but it has increased to two full units at 7,000 c.f.s. flow. Beaver Lake rose about a foot while Table Rock only rose about nine inches. We are looking at a pretty big rain moving through today and Thursday with a possible rain amount of three to four inches over the whole watershed. That would add as much as three feet of rise to both lakes above us and increase our flow to four full turbines for a couple of wee

    38 Years

Today is our Wedding Anniversary. I have a hard time remembering 5 minutes but knew this was important so I was already. Then my wife was messing with my head and told me I missed it that it was yesterday. oneshot

  36. Two things. The 5 county rule keeps you from keel hauling anyone. you tie a rope to a guy on a ship that runs under the boat from one side to the other. Then throw him over the side and pull him under boat to other side. Brutal.

The "We're saving the bass" argument is weak, very weak. Why not just say that they're a bunch of guys that like to go out at night and shoot fish?

    Cape fair to piney 4-23

Right on. I love my barge, but I could see going that route eventually. Better ride in the ever increasing number of wakes, too. Who runs a pleasure boat up and down Schooner Creek blaring gangster rap on a Monday afternoon?
