  1. Also remember that these pea brained fish hold the rule book to your success, and can change the rules any time they see fit - without a reason or notification. In general, I believe the darker colors are better at night.
  2. Nice. I wish I could figure out how to "Fine Tune" my Lowrance Elite to show images like that!!
  3. OMG. I am going to kill him!!! Sorry guys!!!
  4. Launched at sun up, fished for 3 hours. I caught 15 fish and only 1 keeper K at 16.5" on a Wart. I had pretty good luck on the Wart today with the shorties on harder bluff/shelf banks. I tossed a short worm around for a while but the bluegill wouldn't leave it alone so I put it away. MyBrother-in-law caught this 90 pound Yellow Cat at Branched Oak in Nebraska. What a monster!!!! I don't have the details of the catfish, but I know it is huge!!!
  5. Thanks. Do you stay with like a white or white/chartreuse skirt regardless of water color and go with black in mud?
  6. I am not much of a spinnerbait guy, (I throw cranks 10 to 1). But plan to try to go more spinnerbait this fall. I know many of you are great spinnerbait guys so please advise. I love to throw a buzzbait with a gold blade on cloudy days and a silver blade on sunny days (even though I have been told the bass can't even see the blade on a buzzbait). So as far as spinnerbaits go - is that the same color selection that you go with? Or am I all wet?
  7. I love that part of the lake. That waterfall up that river sure is pretty cool. Thanks for the report. What was the water temp up there?
  8. Thanks for the report. Did you go up Flat Creek past point 15 or stay in the James?
  9. M&M - not as many as I expected. I went up the river and I was almost by myself for quite a while.
  10. I saw a great big carp on the bank, but that was the only dead fish I saw.
  11. Launched at 4:50 am with top water on mind. Tossed around a black on black buzzbait and had 5 keepers on it and a couple shorts. No real size to them, all between 15 and 16.5. I lost that bite around 8:00 and so I started chucking around a 1.5KVD with very little success, maybe 8 shorts on it. By 10:30 I was back on land wiping the boat down. Water temp was 83.0 to 85.0. Sorry - no pics - not much worth snapping a picture of.
  12. Sorry to hear about your luck! Keep on casting, your luck will surly turn back around. Still beats working all day like I was doing.
  13. Holly detective work jolicious!! That is impressive. I think you did a great job, I am convinced!!
  14. Lost my telescopic plug knocker last weekend so I am looking to replace it with something new. I liked it but it was a little cumbersome in the wind by yourself. Anything out there that is great?
  15. Thanks for the report M&M. I was starting to worry about you because I have not seen anything on OA for a while from you. Maybe I have just missed your posts lately. Glad to see you hitting the water and having fun.
  16. Fished Cape this morning for 6 hours. Started at 5:30 and left at 11:30 (couldn't take the traffic any longer). Not a great day with only 19 total and only 3 keepers and the largest keeper was 16" on the button. I had very little love on the top so I tossed a deep little N by Norman that was a shad pattern and they liked that a lot better. No bears but I did watch a little brown mink or ferret looking animal chasing the shad that were flipping on the rocky banks. That was pretty fun to see. Great to be back on the water after a few weeks of not being on the water.
  17. I agree with you. Top water is KING!!
  18. Nice. What part of the lake were you fishing?
  19. Nice report. Love the picture of father and daughter. Still looking for the picture of father and boyfriend...?? Just kidding. Glad to hear you all had a great time out on the lake.
  20. Nice. I couldn't get out today. Too many projects going on right now. What was the water temp?
  21. 23.13
  22. Thanks for the report. Cape Fair is the area that I fish the most. There is a lot of good fishing in that river. With no electronics you probably don't know the water temp do you?
  23. Sunday afternoon up by Cape Fair it had 3-4 foot visibility - I thought it looked good.
  24. How did the yak tournament turn out? All safe and sound I hope. What were the weights?
