  1. Thanks for the report. I would take your day over mine any time - I was at work!! Lol.
  2. I for one appreciate the information and I know many others do as well without expressing it on the forum - so for me and all those other people "Thank You". Ps. I really like and use the Cape Fair information!
  3. I am not a Ned guy quite yet either, so I spend most of my winter searching for bass with a jerkbait. My plan this year is - when I find any fish with a jerkbait start tossing a Ned around the area until I either figure it out or get tired of it - then move to a new area. The more I do that the more knowledge I will gain and share. I do plan to hit bluff ends, main lake points with timber, and secondary points and channel swings.
  4. I have never met Ike. The last time I saw him on TV he was spitting and blowing spit at the camera after he landed a nice fish. He looked like a water buffalo in heat or something. I had to turn the station for a few minutes before I got sick.
  5. Nice job Bobby B.
  6. Hahahaha. LMAO.
  7. Thanks. Same to you. Be safe out there.
  8. 26 hours and the lake has gone down 1 foot. They have slowed the cfs again so at this rate it will be several weeks before back to pool. I don't have great patients so this sucks for me.
  9. Great read Quillback. I love those kind of articles. I had no idea that a bass would go "back home" after being released 27 miles from capture. Alot of things to keep in mind while fishing.
  10. Thanks for the pictures. It is wild seeing how high the water is.
  11. I am closing on a cabin tomorrow at 9am across from Cape Fair. I better go down there and see if I still want it, might be under water.
  12. At what point does it go over the top of the dam? I thought 935.5 in 2011 it was the highest it could possibly be.
  13. Thanks for the report. Nice pics. I will not be out again for another week or so.
  14. Nice report and glad you got out today. Nothing better than spending time on the lake, even better when the weather cooperates on Christmas Eve.
  15. Thanks for the report, and good work. My day was a rare day indeed for me.
  16. Fun day today. Caught probably 45 or 50 bass with the biggest being right at 4lbs. Water temp was 51 - 54 by the time I left. I had my best fishing from 12:30 until 3:30 with a black and blue jig on steeper banks and would catch 2 - 5 bass at almost every rock slide. I had a total of 9 keepers. I had 1 keeper Smallmouth, 2 keeper Kentucky's and 6 keeper Largemouth. I got close to the great, majestic, Bald Eagle and caught a funky looking bass. What a blast!!!
  17. Thanks for the report - and I hate when they try to break your junk. LOL.
  18. I went up past the 173 bridge about 3/4 of a mile I guess.
  19. I did from 3:30 to about 4:00 and caught 1 largemouth that was 14".
  20. Launched at 9am and ran up river to Flat Creek. Water temp was 48 so I started with a jerk bait and didn't put it down until my arms and hands started cramping, about 3:30. I had 8 keeper largemouth and a total of 21 fish. 4 smallmouth with 1 keeper. The largest LM was 16.5". I lost a hard puller that I never seen, but felt like a good fish. I pounded the banks for 6.5 hours and it was a pretty good day. Most of the fish came from lay downs.
  21. Love it!! Any plans for up the James around Cape or Scottys?
  22. That's how I have my centrifugal brakes set also. I use the magnetic dial for wind but keep it at 2 or 3 and the tension knob so that when my rod is at about 45 degrees when the button is pushed my lure slowly drops to the ground with just a little free spool after the lure hits the ground.
  23. All the brakes are set the exact same, and it's not really the casting distance that's bothering me. I throw a lot of crankbaits and the whole reel sounds bad and has a vibration in them on a long cast. Drives me crazy.
  24. If I am not scheduled to work I will be there.
