  1. Any particular reason the bass boats don’t impress you? Layout, handling,? My buddy told me that they gel coat the battery compartments also.
  2. I think Evinrude and Mercury are the main motors they use. I keep my boat in the shop.
  3. I am kicking around the idea of getting a new bass boat (maybe next spring). There is a small bass boat manufacturer in Louisiana that custom build bass boats - called Pro Gator. A friend of mine referred them to me - cost is similar to the Nitro but a much better boat - so he says. Do any of you have any experience with them? I would like hear what you have to say.
  4. Well done - patience is a virtue.
  5. I use a Kistler that is a glass/composite mix and love it. I can’t say for sure what it costs new - I think around your price point. I got mine from magicwormman at a nice price. I think Kistlers run from 200 to 400 but I didn’t pay that much.
  6. Count on me to grab chips and cookies.
  7. Good deeds are often times rewarded. Sounds like he is the kind of person that will catch many more of those kind of fish. Great fish for sure.
  8. That is crazy. It was sure nice of him to pick all that up. Thanks Dennis!!
  9. His dad owns the local tire shop.
  10. Yep - I plan to be there again.
  11. Where they biting?
  12. Yes.
  13. In Anglers Bend.
  14. Yep. - we got around 5”. The ramp at my house is totally useable and the roads are clear for the most part.
  15. Good luck Dutch. I sure wish I had a better report. Tomorrow might be fantastic. Let us know how it goes.
  16. I started late - not a good idea. I tried lots of stuff and lots of places and I struggled. Transitions, bluffs, Rock slides on bluffs, chunk rock, channel swings, pockets - all sucked. Shakey heads, jerk baits, jigs, Ned rig, - all sucked. I caught 3 on a rock crawler and all where shorts. Water temp was 52-53. Still had fun and I will be out again soon.
  17. I will keep this short - went from 8:30 to 12:30 and had around 20 total. 1 keeper is all. I would like to thank Fisherman for stopping and chatting for a few minutes. It sure was nice visiting with you. We were both beating the same types of banks- he was throwing cranks and I had the jerker on again. Bluffs and chunk rock transitions were the best for me. Water temp 51.
  18. Nothing in the James by Cape.
  19. If you donate blood and ask for them to check for antibodies- they will do it for free. Some studies say antibodies are with you for a long time - maybe even a lifetime. Then you might know if you had it.
  20. I will never know.
  21. One of my best friends won the Powerball. - it was like $58 million bucks. I don’t think they had much fun after they cashed in the ticket. With all that money brought so many worries that people dreaming of that kind of money never think of. Fun is what you make of it. Money helps - too much of it, I actually believe hurts. Off to have fun at work now.
  22. That sounds awesome!!!
  23. I have been having pretty good luck with the Northern Secret- I like it better in the clearer water. When the water is a little more stained I like the Table Rock Shad. The TRS has a flash that I think can been seen farther in the stained water. Just my thoughts - no science. And I have been using the Vision110 jr plus 1. I like the smaller profile and it gets down to 8 feet or so.
  24. Well - you got out, that’s more than I did today. Thanks for the report. What was the water temp up there by KC?
