  1. Find the depth range they are using and it's like shooting fish in a barrel. I fished a 200yd stretch of shaded bank that's actually an edge of a field normal levels. They were scattered from one end to the other. And many places I could see them and hear them popping the surface but couldn't get to them, the forest was too thick Also we had an awesome bass hatch as there were hundreds of little pods of bass about an inch long cruising around. Same with shad spawn. I couldn't believe I didn't see any bass or whites schooling on top. Just gobs of bait all over the place. Schools of shad any size they want. Little baby shad ,3-4" shad, and big ol 7-10" shad.
  2. Are you saying I wear women's clothing and should buy the pretty dresses?πŸ˜„ Or you liked the pretty dresses? πŸ˜„Or what? Wal Mart sells fishing reels, and women's clothes, so does Bass Pro,Cabelas and many other stores. For that price it's worth looking into though isn't it? They may not even be a legit company, who knows. I just saw the ad on Google .
  3. Not bad, but they can be found a lot cheaper. Saw some for $79.99 using Google search
  4. 6/11 11-6 The panfish adventures continue. 157 today. Almost all of them caught sight fishing. Fishing in the woods is risky, but that's where they are concentrated. You can hear the fish kissing the surface and see them in big schools of 15-20+. I kept thinking any minute a snake was gonna drop into the boat from a tree limb, but actually I never saw a snake all day. Using the same baits as always. Also caught 9 small crappie. Kept 11 decent size fish about like this one.
  5. For those of you with maters ,may want to look at the underside of some leaves for eggs and bugs. I had one plant out of 27 that had some hiding . Little diluted neem oil and presto! No more bug. I keep forgetting it's June and the insects are out in full force now, and I saw those darn metallic green beetles hooking up on my roses too ,geez get a room already😦
  6. Ground is nice and soft now after Cristobal. Easier to dig in this mountaintop dirt so I went ahead and put a couple more maters in today. Wind didn't tear up too much, just kinda twisted a few leaves on the plants. Using a new razor blade I went around to all the maters and removed the first couple sets of leaves closest to the ground. Most buggy type critters won't climb the vine due to the hairy trichomes , but they will hop on a leaf low to the ground if given the chance, and they say dirt splashed on the leaves during watering or rains can cause problems. Mulch helps with preventing that too. So they get the chop. It's about time to apply a natural fungicide to get a jump on Summer diseases.πŸ‘ My one and only volunteer cocktail tomato is growing like crazy putting on as much as 3"-4"a day on all the upper branches! Survived 2 hard freezes, and transplant stress due to half the roots pulling off when the dirt separated at the base of the vine when I dug it up. Will for sure be saving the seeds!

    What's Cooking?

Mmmmmm, bizzzzzkits n gwavy. Had that Sunday! I think I sleep better the night before , knowing that will be breakfast in the morning πŸ˜‰
  8. Government conspiracy, in attempt to cause earthquakes, is why they keep Bull full. jmho. I don't trust them to do anything in favor of the people. Trillions of pounds of additional water at these levels. We get more flooding from Cristobal and historical data shows quakes , volcanoes ect.in other places happen after flooding. It's already happened before in 2017 with numerous minor tremors around Harrison that geologists said were caused by "heavy water".the next one/ones could be a massive quake/s ...or not. All according to their sinister "Water Control Plan",just my opinion. Hey,let's dump trillions of pounds of water with record releases. g, that wouldn't trigger a quake either now would it...😑
  9. Marigolds have doubled in size this past week, still tiny seedling stage. Zinnias are about 6" tall now. Will be planting more of those seeds soon. Butterflies love em and they are easy to grow. Watermelons are doing ok, slow growing, but healthy.
  10. Want fuzzy blooms? Heck yeah! Adding extra P and K nutrients early in the growth stage will guarantee you the healthiest tomato flowers Lillies are prime! Planted some new ones last Fall, they are about to open soon, forgot what colors they are though πŸ˜†
  11. I have that same blue glass orbπŸ‘
  12. About a month late planting peas but they are blooming now,a few small pods here and there too. A little crowded, but space is limited. Did a little defoliation on the mater, it was just getting too dang lush. I like an airy plant, helps prevent disease and fungus. First tomato of 2020 is on the vine. By the looks of it ,it's going to be a thooster!!
  13. It was strong wasn't it! Had to be close to 50+ at times, saw some trees down west of Theo town
  14. Plastic hinge or a metal pin? The newer ones had the pin didn't they? Or was it just the newer King Shads that had the better hinge?Idk I've got 3 king shads and 2 wake shads, they have been retired from their duties for a while now. They were replaced by the Big Bait Special BulldogπŸ˜‰
  15. Love the rattle in that sucker! Tic tac tic tac
  16. Looking good! Talking to plants... Absolutely yes yes yes, they listen and don't talk back πŸ˜ƒ Lots of flower blooms about to open, any day now, will post when they do Transplanted a few more Belgium and 2 cocktails today. That makes 19 Belgium ,6 cocktails. After the next rain will be digging more holes again. Had more plants than I thought lol! Planted some marigolds about 3 weeks ago, they just aren't growing much, still tiny, I figured it's because of the 14' long raised bed they are in and they are just rooting out big time before the foliage starts, at least I hope that's what happening..tbc
  17. Thanks for the report! This time of year is kinda hit or miss with post spawn bass, but be thankful you got into some. I know some people who have gone there first time and stayed a few days and never catch a keeper bass. You did good! Even if the fishing gets slow, the scenery makes up for it 1000% I was out Saturday. Fishing in the woods is strange , 5' snakes everywhere, dozens of turtles, herons, ducks. Absolutely loved it! Caught so many bluegill could have filled a bathtub. It was just nuts. Hook one ,and there would be 15+ followers. I sat anchored in one spot for two hours before it stopped producing. I saw dozens of schools of gills cruising by the boat. They would come right up to the boat and grab bait dangling over the side with 2' of line out. Had so many doubles I lost count. Cast out hook one and then the other rod would start bouncing around 😁
  18. Just one reason why I love Belgium tomatoes. They grow BIG! This plant is only 8 weeks old and the vine is already HUGE! May have something to do with the quartz crystals and Moss agate I put in the soil to "energize" the plant πŸ˜‰, oh yeah bb ,it works!! I also use crystals in my water, using a clear watering pitcher I put crystals in the water and set it in the sun to charge the crystals and water , then water the plants with it. Sounds silly but if you've seen my tomatoes the last couple years I've posted you get the point 😁 It works for pretty much any plant too. And these are growing bigger every day, cocktail and Belgium's. Look at the previous pic from last week on page 24, same plants shown below and they have doubled in size practically!
  19. Things are going good! Happy for all of you!
  20. Rooster tails , I have yet to get skunked at Taneycomo when throwing them, I don't trout fish very much but that's about all I throw there for stocker trout. trout are like crappie sometimes and can be color selective so experiment with color, black ,brown, gold blades should get you started ,1/6,1/8, oz, that and a Ned rig might be worth a try also since the crew is familiar with that, heard it took 20+lbs to win a derby on Bull Saturday😁

    What's Cooking?

  22. I haven't been in a while.
  23. πŸ˜„Since the ground is nice and soft figured it was time to transplant more maters into the Earth. Last count there were 12 in the ground out of 44 total. Usually transplant 4-5 a week. No hurry. I just cut the bottom out of the pots and bury them in a pre dug hole. Works fine, these plants will be ready for their new homes in about 5-7 days
  24. Well my strawberries didn't turn out very good. Mold got the best of them. They looked ok a few days ago ,now 90% loss. Oh well they will flower again in a few weeks and I'll try again. They were really packed tightly together and there was so much foliage the air circulation and light penetration below was practically non existent, and the 6" of rain didn't help, hence the mold problem. I picked enough to fill a cool whip tub to put on some ice cream. These two tomatoes are doing great! They have blooms, πŸ˜‰
