Dug around in the freezer tonight. Found some chicken egg rolls and a 5 rice blend. Made some hot mustard by using honey mustard a dash of soy sauce and some hot sauce . The red stuff came with the egg rolls.

Fertilized the 10x10 strawberry patch last week. It's rained a couple times since. Blooms all over the place! Everbearing variety. Winters very well with just a few hand fulls of leaf mulch tossed on top before the first frost comes. The leaves some will turn kinda purpleish but they handle the cold quite well.,no blooms of course during Winter. I don't mess with them after mulching until the following Spring..that's when I take a broom and gently sweep away some of the leaf mulch. They have really greened up in the last ten days. This is the 3rd Spring for this patch. Woke up today to find 10 of the 11 Belgium I sowed last week had sprouted. The 2 boxcars , nothing yet. My tomatoes I planted outside early look miserable. They ain't gonna make it, will probably be stunted IF they survive, probably just pull them up because of the way they look 2/3 dead. Just had too many too early and needed somewhere to put them so I took a chance and they basically croaked from the cold weather and transplant stress. Onions are growing good! Trying to grow one from cutting the base off a onion and rooting it. On a positive note the remaining transplants are thriving in their new half gallon containers sitting outside today 👍

I used to use cfl, now just led. Recently got a 4' 36watt light bar. Works fine for starting seedlings. Never tried hydroponics. Will be glad to move what tomatoes I have outside and leave it there. There's no room in the tub to start my jalapenos and bells!

Something I want to try sometime. Looks cool!

The outside plants are not liking this crazy MO weather. They are stressing out. I'm not sure they will make it through this next freeze. We'll see. Will try to cover them with boxes.

Dang how many watts is that ? 300?600? Mine got huge under a 36w. Thats more than enough light what you got there. Better have good air circulation as they increase in size or you'll have issues. They are already getting too crowded imo. Those peppers do look healthy,I haven't had the room to start any yet, tub is still full of maters. They are getting so big I had to start pruning them ,I don't like them to touch each other. They are about 12-14" tall now. Didn't think they would grow so quickly, had I known would have waited another week or two before starting any.Wish it would stay warm so I can start moving things outside permanently.

My bathroom lights up purple too, don't worry about it.

Those are Medicinal Maters. 😉

I've been using the lil nasties by Eagle Claw for a few years. its the only hook I use for my Ned head. They don't rust, ,very strong, and I don't use glue anymore because the bend of the hook holds the bait in position if rigged just right. They can't throw it either. At least I've never had one toss it yet. So sharp you never have to set the hook hard, just reel tight to the fish and they are on. The points stay pointed too. 1/16

please , be close to home and play. I'm sure many stats have said to refrain from unnecessary travels. Why drive hundreds and hundreds of miles from your home during a worldwide pandemic

Just have to remember Bull is a flood control reservoir so you have to be ok with super high water. Which means limited launch space first come first serve. Seems like ever since the minimum flow power pool change Bull is almost always high or flooded, idk if it's because of that or what...but I never remember Bull being high for so many years in one decade prior to 659. Then they build high water ramps to compensate, they are probably flooded now I know Theodosia is, people parking along the highway, and there's about 50' approx of road to launch off of. People backing across the highway off of Cook drive to put in.Theres no way they can see a car coming across the bridge either. I look at the water levels every year since the pool change. 🤔Maybe I'm just looking to flip the frustrated finger at someone. High water puts a lot of fish in the lake, but at the same time I'm getting a little sick of it😄

Oakland is about 20 miles approx. Lake can be very busy during Summer , especially the holidays. The 4th, Labor Day. If you want to fish then go early before the masses wake up. Or night fish. Lake is really busy now because of nobody working and it's Spring! Fish are going bananas and I'm seeing more boats than usual because like I said all the unemployed. Like Mark said you can always find somewhere to fish without company pretty much any day. After Labor Day things get quite calm. During floods it's pretty quiet all Summer generally because the majority of ramps are underwater. There's mkre than plenty of room by then. During Winter sometimes you'll never see another boat all day while you're out. This can be a good and bad thing ,cell phone reception isn't very good in AR based on my experience,so if you have engine trouble , you're better off staying close to the launch so you can get back by trolling motor. If you're the only boat rig on the ramp I wouldn't go too far away.

It was 91° when he delivered those frozen chocolate creme pies ! 😆 Glad I was home

4/8 WT 65-68 Short trip, 10-1:30. Had to get back for a Schwan's delivery 😉Left all the panfish stuff at home this time and just bass fished. Started deep near the main channel in 18-25'. Thinking there might be schooling fish on shad. Worked the upper, middle, and bottom of the water column. Not a bite. Saw some fish on the screen scattered up high in 3-5' No shad balls though. Two hours in, no fish. Re rigged for shallow fishing. Shallow crankbait to search with and a finesse worm to pick at em once I found a few. Found the closest ditch leading into the shallows. Bingo! Visibility was 5', no wind. So everything I threw was downsized. First bite was a keeper largemouth on a SK 1.0 in 6'. Then another keeper on the square bill 3 casts later. Just 15-16" fish. Saw another about the same size take a swipe at the bait,I flinched, and pulled it away from her. Came up to a bush and worked the crank through the limbs and another one engulfed the bait ,power dove down into the bush, I leaned on her too hard to try to get her head turned my way and the #8 hooks pulled out. Moved in a little shallower 1-4' and saw some bass on beds,3. And a few small bass cruising around debris mats.. Saw a 2lb male trying to push a 3lb. female in the direction of the bed, which was interesting to me to see him nudge her sideways, and when she tried to turn he would immediately spin around and push her back the other way. Baby please don't go!! 😄I thought they were carp at first because those things are everywhere on every bank spawning right now . So then I went back to where I caught the first one fan casting the 1.0 as I worked my way back to the 6' depth.. Picked up the worm and went back through the area. Nothing. Had I been there at daylight I think I could have had a better chance of getting more bites before the sun got so high. At least I learned something today. It's gonna be top water time any day now!

Everybody has their beliefs, so I'm cool with it in that sense. Even if my opinion is different and I completely disagree.

If you don't want to make an effort to stop the spread that's cool. I'm not taking any chances when I'm surrounded by people breathing on me in line and touching things I buy at the store. If gloves and a mask might help prevent me from getting it or spreading it, then I'm going to do it.

Absolutely mind blown at the lack of concern in small town USA. I went around town just to see how people are or aren't trying to stop the spread. I sat in Dollar General parking lot for 15 minutes. Watched 19 people come and go. At one point there were at least 12 inside the store not including employees. Nobody wearing a mask. Nobody wearing gloves. Next stop gas station, lunch time. Parking lot full. 9 vehicles parked. 3 at the pumps. Nobody pumping wearing a mask or gloves. Nobody entering or leaving wearing masks or gloves. In a ten minute time frame 19 different people touched the door with bare hands going in and again coming out. Gross, talk about germs! Estimated as many as 7+ inside at one time plus employees. One of 2 gas stations here ,the next closest one is 18 miles down the road , so Everyone stops here when passing through. Where did they come from? Where have they been? No way of knowing.. Next stop hardware store. Senior gathering at the front door. 4 gentlemen in their 60-70's having a chat. No masks. 7 vehicles in the lot. Nobody in them. Watched for ten minutes. Watched 9 different people touch the doors outside to go in. If one person has it and sneezes or coughs by you at any of these places, too bad so sad. no gloves,no masks. Not 1 person anywhere. These people need to Wake the fu** up! I They are not being responsible!! I got gas this morning, wore gloves to pump, put on my mask to go inside, stood at least 6' from everyone else. Had to ask 2 young girls to step away from me they were too close. The one gave me a dirty look. So what . All the people inside did was stare at me,some giggled. I just paid and left. Thanks for doing your part to help stop the spread😠. Enjoy your day while the rest of us do what we can to help.

Stuck a few maters in the Earth today. Soil felt warm even 10" down. I've never planted this early, ever. May be a mistake,I'm prepared to protect from a frost or monsoon if necessary. 🤞 I have back ups just in case these don't survive. Going to transplant them out of their red cups probably Thursday. They have doubled in height since last Thursday. Sowed another 11 Belgium and 2 Boxcar Willies today. They will be started inside.

On my way home from fishing today I counted 12 vehicles parked at our little local hardware store. Made a circle through the lot.Nobody outside either. All the vehicles unoccupied. Idiots

4/7 WT 62-70 Fished from 10:30-3.Chasing panfish. Caught 8 crappie today before the wind made it hard to position the boat and I was drifting way too fast ,but managed to get a few. Ice jigs under a cork ,bobbing in the waves. They were suspended on a sharp drop. Also had the Gill bite going , the Black Panther scores again! Visibility was about 2- 3 ft. today.

4/6 I caught bluegill for 8 hours today. Took home 16. The one's I am catching are always moving due to the lake rising. Sometimes in the back of pockets and in ditches and drains. Sometimes suspending in bushes. I did have one bank today on a flat that had a quite a few big ones in some grassy weedy areas. Fluorescent orange ice jigs tipped with worms or red power bait,,that has been the best color lately. only this time the water was a lot clearer so I used a small cork with the jig set about 9-15" depending on the depth of water. Visibility was about 18". The extra weight let me cast the tiny jigs a lot further so the boat didn't spook them. I tried vertical jigging in the bushes like before but it wasn't happening today. Everything was caught casting this time. Focused on the 1-5' zone. Also had great success with #2 Martin spinners black with yellow and yellow with red, both gold blades. Caught 252. Yes I counted every fish I touched.😊
