  1. The show that was on after, all angles I think it's called. They talk about their day and show lures and stuff.
  2. Had that itch to go for a couple hours so I grabbed a couple of rods and baits and went. fished off the bank from 5-7:30. Just to get out before the weather changes. Weather was nice,in the high 50's with a Southern breeze.Started with a 4" swim bait on a 3/8 head ticking the bottom. After about 10 casts I snagged and broke off. Pretty shallow bank probably 8' deep at the end of the cast. One thing that sucks sometimes about bank fishing is you can't go get your bait back 😄 I had one more pre rigged so I kept at it. No bites until after dark. That's when she bit. Caught and released. Checked my knot and line for nicks, all good. Very next cast, snagged, and bye bye jig😐. Went back to the truck grabbed the other rod with a 3/4 oz homemade red skirt gold blade single spin on it. Made about 5 casts and wham! Big fish on, got it all the way to the bank and saw it was a nice walleye 5-6lb I'm guessing. And she had it deep . Line broke when I tried to drag her onto the shore. ------- 😆 bye bye walleye.😮 tied on a jerkbait cuz that's all I had left with me , no bites. Hope the weather isn't a flood . Lake is just getting back to where I like it this time of year. 🤞
  3. Had the best luck with predator blanks. Fish seem to really like the warts. I buy off eBay too from China sometimes
  4. 👍, lookin good! got everything set up ready to go and realized I didn't have any blanks to paint 😄
  5. January is when I get walleye fever. I don't catch a bunch ,but when I get bit it's generally a keeper .It's the same thing every year. Suspending jerkbaits Or live minnows . No giants yet,but did have a couple bites yesterday. My hands are huge,so this 19" looks small One got away, this one didn't. Happened to be my 1st fish or the year Both bites were in 5-7' over 15-20' approximately.
  6. David. 😕 haha don't like him, never have. Didn't he sue BASS a long time ago over a dq for cheating or something and lost? He had my brain swimming in circles with those numbers 😵 I'm willing to bet a hell of a lot more bass are hurt/killed by swallowing gitzits rigged on a tube jig head than with a Ned. Bill has it on his list too. He knows exactly what I mean.
  7. Nice variety and colors hambandit! If you haven't seen this yet it's worth a look. A lot of tips and tricks and ideas on the subject😃
  8. Surely someone has been painting since April? I've been making jig heads ,that's about it. I took a break from painting but will dust off the guns if necessary.
  9. Launch ramps near me have been super busy lately. Anybody here been out and tried it? Ive not been.
  10. Fished Saturday from noon until 4:45. Without electronics this time so I don't have water temps. Previous trip we had wind and clouds all day ,this time it was high sky and very calm to start then a light breeze later in the day . Fished strictly points again. Deep bite early on finesse jigs in approx. 18 to 30 dragging the sides, and later in the day we fished the same points again but the fish moved shallower around 9 to 12ft and bit crankbaits . Again retrieve speed was the trigger and be touching rock or brush at some point during the retrieve because most bites came after it would hit a bush or rock ,pause for a few seconds so the lure would float up , and then really speed up to get their reaction. They would grab it and start trying to chew it like a worm bite. Total of 17 keepers. 2 sm, 7 lm, 8 ky Caught dozens of baby bass ! Happy to see so many of them😃 . Free the fighters!
  11. Deep ,shallow, and in between is where we are catching bass. Have had several really good days of fishing and catching this Fall. Started back in November fishing the deep bite with spoons and blade baits on deep flats. Fish stayed in the same general areas for a couple weeks which made for more time catching and less time searching. Concentration of fish we found were 35-55' with a few suspended in the 20's at that depth but most on or near the bottom. I'm talking about walleye, flathead, white and black bass. They were all mixed together. Now December is here and we switched back to the shallow and mid range bite. Jerkbaits and crankbaits were working yesterday. Points at the mouths of coves is all we fished for 4 hours.Cloudy and wind. Around 40 bass between the 2 of us. Cranking these points from every angle possible in the 8-12' zone , retrieve speed was the most important thing. Had to be a certain speed or they wouldn't bite the crankbaits. Had to finesse the bait through the brush while keeping the right retrieve speed also, that was tricky. Same points we worked shallow small lipped suspending jerkbaits just under the surface in and around the brush. Was neat to see the flash when a bass would suddenly appear and strike! Hope to get back out tomorrow and see what happens

    Drones

Slaughterbots, now that's a scary thought. Some scenes are pretty bloody so IDK if Phil will let this stay up, if it's too gross I'll take it down

I haven't made anything worth posting lately. Been eating out A Lot more these days . I stopped in at Skippers in Mtn Home for the first time ever. Have driven past there a thousand times but never tried it. Glad I did! Had the catfish, got the 5 piece so Id have a snack for later that night. Well I ate all 5 pieces in the restaurant lol and ordered a 3 piece to go. I can eat some fish! Had a side salad instead of a potato, amazing hush puppies imo, some of the best I've ever had. Crispy outside, soft inside not doughy or tough, bits of onion and just a hint of sweetness, could have been the onion IDK. Some thick slices of white onion and dill pickle spears, and some pickled green tomatoes too. Why order fish in a restaurant when you have fish in the freezer at home? Because your stomach says Pull Over ------- I'm Hungry!
  16. You'll find me just down the street eating the FREE buffet at Mrs. Patty's cafe.
  17. I agree. If he did it legally. I'd feel a lot better knowing it was done legitimately
  18. I'm a cat lover, all breeds. This makes me 😤 Even if it was following him why kill it Probably some trigger happy asshole too ,wonder what else he killed that day Those squirrels probably aren't barking any more either Cat was most likely chasing the deer and they ran into this guy. I think it's a bogus story
  19. Seth,it might still be the Summer to Fall transition time there idk, Water temps you posted are approaching prime time, though, always a tough nut to crack because bass can be scattered at so many different depths now imo. been catching largemouth flipping in the bushes on Bull .Shallow 1-5' on beavers and rodents. Points have been the best spots . I've seen bass cruising so shallow I swear it's barely a foot deep where they are at in the buck brush. Nice ones too, 2lb + but they are so spooky if they see ya they freak out. Usually in groups of 5 to 7. Bull largemouth will stay in the bush as long as they can. I've been anchoring so I don't bang into the bushes or make noise with the trolling motor. Some bites were literally right beside the boat and I can see the bottom.

Last of the cocktails I grew. Need recipes for Indian food, any suggestions? Expanding my palate hehe
  22. Lawn clippings,by next Spring it should decompose. I use grass in the Fall after the 1st Frost after tilling up the new rows and plots. And again in the middle of Summer. Just twice. I put it on thick too. When planting I mulch with compost typically and amend as needed during the growing season with more compost and this stuff If you ever see Eco Scraps5-5-5 plant food I love that stuff wish it came in a bigger bag. I use 1 4lb bag per 25' row and till it in. https://www.ecoscraps.com/products/natural-organic-all-purpose-plant-food
  23. Nothing but radishes and turnips left. Frost was just too much for my tomatos and peppers. Pulled all the plants and plowed up some rows for next year. Amended the soil and put some mulch down. By next Spring should be good to go!
  24. Still finding a few decent Belgium pinks, plants are looking OK ...for now❄ So thankful for the bountiful harvests! picked the 900th tomato of the year! see pic and,all the peppers are going crazy now, lots of bell, banana, habanero and jalapeno Radishes and turnips are coming up now👍
  25. Better fish will start showing up more and more this time of year, it's going to be a great Fall bite ,good luck!
