  2. that's a goodun!
  3. JIGS CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK .
  4. sure have, I use 3.5 sapphire blue and watermelon red on 1/2 oz or heavier flipping jigs . the 2.75 size green pumpkin on 3/16 and 5/16 and 7/16 finesse jigs. sometimes they work, sometimes fish want something else
  5. not the best photography in the world, but you get the idea .. prob should have left them out of the clear glossy package for a better pic and picked a nice sunny day to do it lol, anyway the masking I used to cover the eyes while painting worked really good. Will keep using it for sure.
  6. guys I must be doing something wrong with the A rig, I'm not a fan simply because I can't catch many black bass with it. I tried it on the reg. for a few years and at dif. times of the year w/o much luck really. Never have caught a black bass over 2 1/2 pound on the rig. I just went back to my usual gear. I'm that guy who can't catch nice bass with an A rig ! Obviously other anglers can but they won't bite my junk. I can catch a few walleye and hundreds of whites with it though!
  7. prob could have found warmer that day later in the afternoon but I quit about noon. Just saw today the flower bulbs out in the yard are starting to come up already!
  8. big and brown, just the way I like them !
  9. to me it doesn't seem like February already, but the fish are telling me otherwise. Now if I can just get one step ahead of them i'll be in great shape when Spring comes!
  10. I think Brandon P. had a trip to the ER while at Bull thanks to a flopping hawg.
  11. ouch, dishonorable mention? seriously why do you think they are so terrible? They seem sharp enough to hook a fish. I've caught thousands of bass with eagle claw trebles over the last 40 years, so have prob most of you over 50yo reading this right now ,not to mention all the other species that were caught on them as well. really wish more anglers would switch over to in-line single hooks on their hard baits. 99% of the fish I hook on them are caught in the mouth, Not in the eyes or body, fins, gill plate, head or tail ect. I've been tinkering with them for the last few years and they def. have some advantages jmo. Fish and Angler friendly ! https://www.google.com/search?q=inline+single+hooks&rlz=1C1AOHY_enUS709US710&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiq0_CxvaXgAhXNY98KHTZcCXsQ_AUIDygC&biw=780&bih=370&dpr=1.75
  12. Wt 45-48 from what I saw yesterday, they ain't everywhere, but when you find them there are many. just sucks I couldn't get them to bite very good. Was a foggy start and by the time I eventually got on some fish it was already 10am . I caught a few largemouth w/ a big smoke silver/pepper custom painted jerkbait. One was pretty fat. 3lb 13oz. Worked the water column upper, mid, bottom Spent about an hour on that area w/o another catch ,but kept seeing fish on the screen in 10-20'. Felt like I had just missed morning bite there. . I left that area and found another place like it w/ a lot of fish on cover and structure in 15-25'. Sun was out now, water surface temp was rising , had 2 hard bites on the jerkbait, guess they didn't want to eat lunch, I did so I went in.
  13. Eagle Claw Bronze Classic Curved Point Treble , inexpensive and work , 50pk for less than 20 bucks you can do a lot of wigglers.
  14. if anybody is looking for a great weedless finesse tube head for the smaller tubes like bitsy tubes ect., I designed these specifically for that purpose. 1/0 Red,black nickle, or bronze lil' nasty Eagle Claw Pro V bend hooks keep the fish pinned. comes in 6 colors. Tough little jig powder coated and uv blasted (optional) w/ gel top coat. myself and other OAF members have caught bass over 5lb on this jig. Thin profile slips easily into the tubes . Simply run the hook point and head through and near the top of the tube to rig. Also have a neat little weedless Ned style that we have caught a ton of bass with over the years. When Bull is high in the brush we fished these all day and would maybe lose 3 or 4. Slides through the rocks easily too. unique stand up design for strike king and zman finesse baits. and is also good for dragging, the head design keeps hook at a high percentage hooking angle. Handmade approx. 1/8oz w/ a 1/0 Eagle Claw lil nasty hook. 1/16 oz size has a #1 hook. You don't need glue with this head, either way the Pro V hook bend keeps the bait positioned nicely. 6 colors ,uv blasted ( optional) and gel coated. if anyone would like to try a free sample of either or both just ask. prices based on quantity ok, that's it
  15. Eagle Claw Trokar Weedless Tube Jighead is a good one for stupid rigging. Venom Lures dot com has some tube heads with a weed guard.
  16. I know what you mean. In the end the fine dot details really make those look alive! I'm doing a custom order of 12, all Citrus Shad. About half finished. my paint booth/box is approx. 18"x19"x15" , and my lure turner only holds 3 at a time and the top coat takes like a min of 8 hours to dry.. A dozen baits takes a long time.
  17. those are some great looking baits guys!! started sanding the bodies and taping off the bills on those Spros. Have this stuff called Daniel Smith Artist Masking Fluid. I've been putting it on the eyes. We'll see if it works for that purpose or not. I've used it before on the body of baits with great success. First time using it to cover the eyes. we'll see how it goes..
  18. ok, who's been painting this winter? I just got out all my painting stuff and have a pile of Spro Rock crawlers that need some attention. Will post pics ....
  19. totally agree w/ the time on the water thing. I've been fishing Bull since 1979 as a toddler. Family has been fishing it since the late 50's. Time on the water is an advantage. You just see/learn so much that can't be found in magazines or videos imo.
  20. The quality of bass has been steadily increasing from my exp. I've noticed a lot more bigger largemouth in the last couple years. The smallies are coming on strong too! Man, there for a while back when the lmbv virus was around you could win 1st place w/ 9 or 10 lbs in a night tournament. Sometimes even less.. I've seen the worst of times and now seeing the effects of past high water spawns, just AWESOME! I haven't fished a T on Bull in YEARS. Fished a lot of them from the late 80's thru 2005.
  21. thank guys for the reports, I was hoping to go w/ Dad but there was so much debris on the lake where he keeps his boat we didn't want to risk hitting something, and we've been out all day in the past to come back to a slip filled with debris and you can't even get near the docks . maybe in a few days it will sink and we'll try it.
  22. anybody here go? One of my sources said he never had a bite all day Sat.
  23. dude those Bull brownies aren't going anywhere, they just keep getting bigger and bigger while you're away.
  24. the only tagged fish I've ever caught was a 4 lb smallie right below Bagnell at Loz . Called the dept, and they said "oh yeah? we tagged that fish there yesterday" lol. idk what purpose a plain yellow tag would have, unless that same person had dif colored tags for each fish and data was based on color id? idk, weird chances of even hooking and catching it again are astronomical i'd think anyway
  25. bought one of those Falcon spinning reels from NABATAK a few years ago when they came out. What a piece of junk. I can't remember which model , but the thing basically fell apart inside on the first fish. Not sure if I just got a lemon or what. Sent it back and got a Pflueger President Limited . What a diff in quality and performance compared to the Falcon. I have 4 other spinning reels, all of them Revo S. Had them about 3 years now, no issues, all perform as they should.
