  1. anxious to hear how it went today
  2. Amen to that!
  3. beautiful design, very talented boy !
  4. thanks for the pics and info Phil, thinking about going after dark, that's when I usually do pretty good if the water is clear up the creek
  5. gorgeous fish! congrats
  6. aw shucks, thanks lol
  7. WT 51-55 Had not planned on going but my gut said GO!Bass fished Theodosia from 1-3:30. Went straight to a point that holds fish every year this time of year and the Kentuckies were there. Caught 16 and had 9 keepers 12- 14 1/4" on a black beetle body on a black homemade 1/6 weedless jig head, 4lb test. Not sure if it was the same school of fish the whole time because the bite would turn on and off like a like switch. Had the boat anchored in 12'. Bites came from 3-7 fow. Water was brown. About 1' visibility. cast right next to the bank and w/ 1/4 turns of the reel handle work it back to boat rod tip about 2" from the water to keep the wind from bowing my line. Bites were just tension, got heavy. Wind got a little strong for my small boat so I didn;t stay long.Threw them all back
  8. it was crazy windy yesterday i found my bbq pit cover about 100 yds away from the house in somebody's yard
  9. for me that's when an underspin and float n fly get the nod. if the jerkbait doesn't click. So many dead shad can be a problem, it's made me scratch my head many times in confusion. the recent tournament weights would say they are biting good. Many 5+lb fish being weighed in . even some 6+'s. Heard it took 17+ to win Saturday. Had a buddy and his friend tell me they caught some nice bass last weekend jigging finesse baits in brush piles while trying for crappie.. should start seeing a lot of bass, crappie, and whites make the journey up the major creek channels now or soon. I had time to fish today and well it's a little windy on the pond right now , dang
  10. 10" Jakes did a couple of these warts last year but sold them both, found these 2 hiding in the shop that I had stashed away that still needed a top coat. This time I added micro orange flake on the orange one but it doesn't show very well in the photo
  11. been hearing some great results the past few months!. has anybody on here been fishing any Bull Shoals T's this winter?
  12. jdmidwest those jigs are primo, multi species for sure what kind of floats are you going to use? Made some of Mike B's modified cigars , but find myself using slip bobbers just as much with the same success. I broke my 12' rod last year so I use a 7'4" for now. When fishing from shore that 12' was ideal for casting distance. Just finished making some handmade heads with the lil nasty hooks last week and will be tying some by the end of this week as soon as my new vice is delivered.
  13. for trout on the rivers 1/6 0z or 1/16 or 1/4 oz 1/16oz 1 color on Taneycomo white bass 1/8 or 1/6 oz clear water dirty water a slight bend in the wire should help with any blade spinning issues, recommend using a bb snap swivel. love the rooster tails but I also make a homemade version.
  14. if/when I ever get my arse in gear and start tying I hope to get this good some day. Found a big cardboard box full of tying materials at a sale back in Dec.
  15. agreed, good answers! good luck with the painting TFR! thanks Flysmallie great advice !
  16. if it's really windy I've caught them in less than 3' in clear water, bright sun in Feb. A heavy overcast , no sun whatsoever, calm winter day that feels like it could snow/rain any minute are my favorite days to catch them shallow. They may not be on/near the bank but they will be shallow and looking for cranks and suspending minnows
  17. anytime, when you get here and want to know what's happening then just ask
  18. with today's tech why we still look for bodies for days, weeks, months when somebody falls out of a boat or is ejected is just dumb. An inexpensive mini tile or cube style gps tracking device implanted in a life vest could save peoples lives and/or speed up the recovery time. I have one in mine. was less than $25. My family has theirs, and the app on their phones, and so do a few people I fish with.
  19. main lake and secondary gravel/chunk points and same type banks that face E. and S., wind blown banks/points,depth will vary depending on the conditions, suspending jerkbaits, shad style crankbaits and bigger paddle tail swimbaits. that's what I've done every year for the last 15 years. give yourself at least 3 days on the water to establish a pattern. Mid Feb can be really good, good luck!
  20. if you want walleye stay on the upper end , Theodosia would not be my choice for walleye. By April they will be done and gone, and there's not as many compared to the upper. I agree with bushbeater there's plenty of bass, whites, and crappie though. If you need lodging this place has everything you could possibly want. ..http://tmrbullshoals.net/ Just don't book a reservation early because when/if it floods it looks like this, and the docks are about impossible to get your boat in and out of, and you won't get a refund on your deposit. .
  21. you said you had enough poles already but I saw some orange zebco combos at wal mart for less than $25, even the reel was orange
  22. any idea what depth they are hanging out?
  23. any idea how deep they are?
  24. $876 impressive
