Short 2 hour trip mid day on the 7th. Spent about an hour at one spot, then drove to a another place and fished about an hour there. Caught 5 total, again fishing off the bank. 3 short lm on a lipless crank,1 lm I'm guessing was 15" on a small jerkbait at the first spot, and a decent Kentucky on a big rogue at the second stop.

I don't have that color Ned, but I made these.

Look at an air quality map for the region. Smog is everywhere for miles and miles surrounding Wuhan . That makes sense to me. Guess it depends which way the wind blows huh?

That sunrise was unbelievable! I just sat on the tailgate of the pickup and watched for about 15 minutes. Good fish! Surprised you didn't get a walleye, or did you? they usually show up there this time of year. I haven't fished Big yet this year. Hopefully soon! that water temp you posted says it's about time to give it a try.

Went again the afternoon of the 3rd fished from 3:30-5:30. Walking around throwing a lipless crank. Caught 9, 4 were keeper spots, 2 small mouth maybe 13-14", 3 largemouth about 12". Wind was howling! One thing I noticed is that Every fish had just the front hook ,and it was a red hook. 👇

Been 4 times. Just walking the banks. First couple times I zeroed. Then got into a few when I started going earlier. Caught 10 total. Some on crankbaits, some on a bitsy tube. 1/8oz homemade weedless head. 5 of the 10 we're keepers. 1 largemouth that was probably just 15", and 3 12-13" spots. 1 was a decent size Kentucky👇 Craws are out walking around on top of the rocks early. All of them I saw were about pinky finger size and Orange colored.

Well that could be it. Not a sound from them last night. They must have stayed home to watch Mahomes.

Saw some Robins yesterday,but none today🤔. Cardinals everywhere you look. Saw 4 males and 2 females in the same red bud tree. Now if I can just keep the pack of coyotes away ,those things are getting too close to the house for comfort. Night before last they were right outside the back door . When they started making noise startled me and about fell out of my chair they were so close! Ran to the door and out onto the deck. Had my spot light,counted 6 before they hit the woods. For sure more than that.They only come around when it's above 40° after dark,they have a schedule,around 9-9:30 every time. I have a air horn handy too. They never make a peep after hearing that 😄 Surprised they even come around. We have street lamps,motion lights,and there must be 20 dogs in my neighborhood. We don't burn trash,or have a scrap pile. There's no reason I can think of why they always come here to our yard. Unless the neighbors have trash or something idk.

Tharp got a decent fish, but not a big one, still waiting for that 5+lb bass. Starting to look like nobody is going to catch one that big. If they could get out on the water earlier with those big noisy topwaters they would😉 Sun is already way high in the sky when they say " lines in". Would love to see someone catch a toad from under a dock. Especially during high skies it could happen.

Still waiting to see that lunker bass on the board😐 who's gonna a find it under a dock first? Another show tomorrow right?

No Robins, plenty of doves though. Saw 10 out the kitchen windows walking down the street around 7:00 this morning. Probably drinking from the water puddles was my guess.

Well January has not been a fisherman friendly month for me. Now the lake is up 8' approx and has become brown yuk with some debris where I was fishing.Didn't get to go as much as I had hoped. Maybe February will have more opportunities!

I'm always the last to buy it seems. My TVs are old, just replaced my phone last year after having the same one for 6 1/2 years. My laptop was so old when it finally quit about 3 years ago ,well it was running Windows vista that came with it.

There was more than enough bass in Big Creek for someone win it all back there. Those fish stayed there all Summer! After the majority spawned they just hung around because of all the food and stained water. I was fishing in there a lot in late August and September as the lake was dropping. Omori had it dialed in perfectly last round. Will be interesting to see what happens next! Someone better catch a big one during this thing!
