  1. funny ,, the guy I sold it too had it listed on ebay this spring but din;t see what it went for
  2. to my knowledge cameras are fine. I've never heard of them being against the rule in any of the t's that I fished in Mo or Ar. I used them a lot pre fishing but rarely during tournament hours. driving around looking at the screen when I saw fish I mark way points and drop the cam down to see what they are lately in Bull the fingerling schools of bass i'm seeing are enormous
  3. thanks MOGUY, in Fall with an aqua vu cam I've seen bass, flathead catfish, whites, walleye together feeding on shad
  4. 8/4 wt 85 6-10 started with the offshore bite. I stayed out there for just 1 short on a shallow crank. No surfacing, didn't see many fish on the screen. Started searching with the tronics. Marked fish suspended over deeper structure and threw a susp. jerkbait. As the wind was increasingly making boat control less fun I got bit by a keeper lm. While unhooking it I had floated far from there and was now drifting across a point so I tried burning the new blade and a little largemouth slammed it. Not to far from the point I anchored in the shallows for the last half hour and threw several baits. Got bit 4 times on a jig and could not stick a hook on any of them. May have been gar they were pretty thick again.
  5. 7-11 wt 86 today was an experiment. A new homemade prototype spinnerbait and throw it the whole time in the same place as yesterday. It caught 5 short lm. Had 1 burning it on a point, 1 slow rolling it, 1 bumping cover, and 2 steady wind away from cover. depth 1-8'. water is a lot more stained now.
  6. 8/2 wt 86 7-11:30 with the boat sitting in 22 fow trolled for about 2 hours keeping the boat in 22-29fow adjacent to the edge of a flat bigger than a football field.. went back and forth with the entire arsenal but only caught 2 small keeper lm. Surface activity was getting good so I started chasing schoolies around. Hooked 4 bass on topwater and boated 1, a short lm. The chase didn't last very long but it's neat to see insane aerial stunts from bass as they torpedo through the shad. They looked/acted really hungry but I wasn;t catching them very good so I went to the bank to try the shallow bite. Tied on a homemade crankbait I designed for heavy cover and went straight to the back of a cove with a creek channel ,boat in 1-8fow. Caught a little keeper lm on my first cast as the bait rolled off the side of a small tree trunk. Caught a short lm on the second cast, and another on the third cast to the same trees. Spun the chair around and caught 2 more smaller one's behind me. I dropped anchor and fan casted the area. Caught 1 more keeper and lost another decent one that wrapped me up. Pulled anchor to go get my lure so I floated out to the 6-8' range and started catching little kentuckies. c&r all.Realized I was getting pretty sunburned and forgot my cooler so I called it a day.
  7. 8/1 wt 86 didn;t see any shad on top, saw no bass feeding, no fish on the screen shallower than 16', marking a lot suspended in 16-25' now., especially where there's a long run out. Bait and fish schools. trolled a shallow diving crank, caught 10 short and 1 keeper largemouth. when the rain started, they stopped biting the crank ,got wet and i left
  8. 7/26 Wt 90 6:30-11 decided to leave the schoolies alone and commit to the shallow bite with a homemade buzzbait and a custom painted shallow wake/crank. bite was slow, caught 8 total. 3 small keeper largemouth, 3 short largemouth, and 2 short k's. to start the buzzbait was working in places like this...they absolutely hammered it . when the wind picked up around 9:45 the crankbait on points got the nod little short guys were fat... the small keepers were all skinny as heck... all released and from now on i take my panfish gear with me every time, i saw dozens of nice gills cruising shallow today that I could have played with, and they looked hungry !
  9. 7/25 Wt89 6:30-10:30 same place because it just keeps producing week after week. some days are slow, some days are a lot of fun! I have been checking the dam every morning for generation, figured the bite was going to be slow and it was. Caught 7 . a keeper largemouth on a topwater , 3 short lm on the red eye, and a few spots. one was a keeper barely. all released
  10. 7/24 WT 88 6:30-11 the same holes Shad were still there , it's been almost a month now. Showing themselves regularly bass fed pretty good all morning. Boated 22, lost 4. 8 of those were just keeper kentuckies, 3 were small largemouth keepers.. Kept 3 of the kentuckies for lunch ,threw the rest back. A lot of follows from baby bass and bluegill. Caught a few on top first thing then the rest were on the custom red eye again and a 7/16 finesse swim jig. Boat sitting in 12-27 fow. lunch
  11. thanks for the ideas guys! i just don't have the tools/stuff to do any of this I thought about doing it several years ago when I started making/selling these. Actually it's been cheaper for me to just make them by hand, and how quick I can make them isn't that important to my customers.
  12. that would probably work ,if somebody who already has all the stuff to do that wanted to try it and get back with me that would be great I would send a sample of both sizes too
  13. it's pretty sad kids as young as 11 or 12 are being diagnosed with cell phone addiction. was reading an article about how smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices can be very stimulating and so entertaining that they override all natural instincts children actually have for movement, exploration, socializing ect. I saw a young girl drop her phone in the lake, she dove in after it without hesitation, and then she couldn't climb back onto the dock because she was obese. Her parents asked if there were divers they could hire who would go down and get it. They were willing to pay somebody to get their daughters phone off the bottom of the lake because she was SO upset about it. whatever
  14. they are handcrafted one at a time without molds
  15. 7/21 Wt 87 6-10:30 same place, better than yesterday. Took some advice from Rob and boated 11 today. All on top water. 5 short spots, 4 small keeper largemouth, and 2 small one's. All released. Had several wolf packs of 3lb class lm bass following hooked fish to the boat but never hooked any of those. Didn;t lose any fish today. Had about a 30 minute window of catching then it got bad fast. With my back to the bank ,boat sitting in 8-12 fow. casting out to 20+. Still lots of shad, saw several single blow ups from some really nice bass but no schooling chasers today. No bites trolling shad rap or the red eye. Thanks for the tip man!
  16. 7/20 Wt 87 7am-11 well it was about like yesterday but no gar. spent 3 hours just trolling a long stretch of channel. Still marking tons of fish and bait there. caught 2 little lm on a custom painted spoon..No bites on the red eye. Saw dozens of schools of shad fry on the surface and nothing but a handful of singles chasing them all morning. The last hour I fished for gills and missed more than I caught and that shallow bite wasn't happening either.Maybe tomorrow will be better.
  17. 7/19 6:30-10:30 Wt 87 same place, bass were so slow I wish I had brought my pan fish gear ;( flat calm, bait and fish showing top to bottom. Very little chasing going on today. Gar were very aggressive again had follows on about every cast and caught 3 about 17" long. I threw a jr spook, 1/2 oz.spoon, lipless crank, spinnerbait and trolled a lipless and a shad rap. caught 3 short lm on the red eye in the first 20 minutes, then about 2 hours later hooked and lost a keeper trolling a shad rap that kept jumping like a tarpon! fish were still hanging out there a little deeper than yesterday, it pretty much looked like this on the screen when you stayed in 15-22fow close to a ditch or the channel .
  18. 7/18 Wt 86 6am-10:30 same place again, slight north breeze at first, fishing was slow. The wind died, it got flat calm, and they went to shredding! There was about a 1/2 mile stretch of extremely scattered surfacing fish on all sides of the boat. I trolled the lipless and caught about half of my catch that way. The other half chasing them down and making long casts with 7'4" m spinning rod and 10lb braid for distance. Pretty decent bite until 9:30. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 20. All largemouth this time. Just 3 small keepers All released. Still haven;t figured out what happened to the bigger keepers i was catching here earlier in the month. boat sitting in 10-17 over a ditch adjacent to the channel. I know this area very well and the last few trips have been without electronics. Next time I'm bringing the finder so I can see what's really going on down there. Maybe get a screenshot or two. . That little red eye shad I painted has been working well haven't seen another boat around, and this is the 8th time there.
  19. 7/17 Wt 86 6 to 10am decided to give the spot 1 more chance to redeem itself. Threw a spook shallow around a couple points first thing just to see, nothing. Behind me the fry schools were thick and on the top so I trolled a shad rap and immediately caught a keeper spot out in the channel. Stayed in the channel back and forth catching 3 more keeper kentuckies. Along came some surfacing , pretty large schools, about the size of a pontoon boat. Tried chasing them around and threw the lipless and got 2 more keeper spots doing that. and lost 2 to jumps.I was seeing less bait on the surface. Went back to trolling the rap and caught a short largemouth and some little spots. I think I missed about an hour of the bite.Figured the bite was done, warming up fast.. Back to the first 2 points I threw the spook on and there were a bunch of gills waiting. A couple hand size, most were palm size. 1/32 hair jig on a beetle spinner. All released.
  20. really like that bug in it's lip
  21. The area I've been fishing has been changing. Caught 2.small spots on the lipless. Have a lot of confidence in it when fish are feeding on bait balls.Gar by the thousands now popping all over. and they liked my cranks so i stopped trolling Didn't see any gills or small fry this time , just acres of bubbles rising to the top. Will try a diff. place next time. Try to find those bait/fry schools again. That's when the bite was on.
  22. well the last 2 mornings were non productive. Only 2 bass Tuesday and 1 today all of them short kentucky fish. That's weird because I had not been catching any spots in those areas until now.Tomorrow could be the day. Might try dragging some deeper holes with a crank for a walter too.
  23. appreciate the report. I've been bass fishing a lot above Theodosia since the 4th.Starting before sunrise and they they been eating the paint off bigger lipless cranks until the sun gets up. About 9:00 you can go by the clock they'll stop biting it. I load up the jon and I'm back home by 10;30am. Positioning the boat near a ditch, depression or a channel. Caught them with the boat sitting in anywhere from 10' to 20' Nothing over 4lbs yet, but lots of steady action Several baby whites too. They'll swarm on the bait right at the boat like piranha. Evidently the spawn was successful because there's millions of baby fish up there.
  24. have not been in a few but main lake try looking around the thermocline now until they wanna spawn. AND there's always some shallow in the creeks so first thing I'd do there is see if they are on top sipping bugs in the debris mats or in the shade around tree trunks
