  1. Nice report!! I'm with you on the bad karma. I was sitting in my truck in a parking lot when a guy going by clipped my rear bumper. He never stopped or even blinked. I couldn't get out of my spot fast enough to go his way and he just drove off. Very lame! SIO3
  2. Welcome Greg Got to Taney enough and you'll be in that chapter sooner than later. SIO3
  3. Yeah this club is not very exclusive, they'll let anybody in. I'm in the Arkansas chapter of the club also. SIO3
  4. Welcome to the, I've been looking forward to this trip for a month, I used a vacation day to for this, I drove 4 hours to get here, I just got suited up, and they turned on the generators club. SIO3
  5. Don't get me wrong, The Norfork would probably rank in the top ten nation wide for trout per mile and average size, even at this point. But it is a far cry from what it was. Do both. Hit Norfork in the morning, then go to Rim Shoals Resort and talk to Gary. He'll hook you up with everything you need to know on the White. Either river taxi or rent a boat. I'd rent, considering they will probably run water around the clock like they have been for two years. Good luck! SIO3
  6. This is From John Berry's report. "The Norfork River has fished a bit better this week. We have been getting a substantial period of wadable water daily. Generation for the rest of the day was near maximum levels. On low water, small midge patterns have been the ticket. The upper river at Quarry Park has fished particularly well. Try black zebra midges or partridge and Dan’s turkey tail emerger. Grasshoppers have also been producing. On high water, the most effective tactic is to fish brightly colored San Juan worms or egg patterns under an indicator. This past week enforcement officers from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission have been observed at Quarry Park and at the Ackerman access. We appreciate their presence." I personally think the Norfork is barely a shadow of what is was just 3 years ago. Run off from housing developement, poor O2 levels and the low overall water quality coming through the dam. Add to that, the fact that it gets so much pressure because the White generates around the clock and what you end up with, is a very poor tailwater compared to what it was. Just my oppinion. Good luck. SIO3
  7. RPS Demitri's??? I ate at Candlestick Saturday night when I was there. I thought it was good, but very overpriced. The atmosphere and view are unbeatable though. SIO3
  8. Thanks Guys. We hit Dannas Friday night after fishing till noon and then playing Branson Creek. Caught some nice fish, shot 75, fleeced my buddy, then had BBQ and a beer. Doesn't get better than that. Spent the rest of the weekend with my family. It was great! SIO3
  9. You can dock and eat at the resturants at Big Cedar. The Truman smokehouse is only open for lunch but it is very good. I don't think they serve beer though. SIO3
  10. Where is Dana's? Cold beer? Thanks!
  11. Hey Guys Me and a buddy will be down to fly fish Friday and Saturday and we were wondering where to go for a good meal and beer. We won't be wearing waders but we will be coming off the stream Friday evening. Any suggestions? Maybe a good sports bar or local watering hole with good, cheap food? We used to go to the Southtown Grill but it changed hands and the quality dropped. Chime in boys! Thanks you in advance. SIO3
  12. F2F said "I don't mind the bass or bluegills doing that" That's just a little too kinky for me . SIO3
  13. Exactly Samkam!! I just didn't want to get too graphic. My wife and I were skinny dipping in a cove and.......... Well, you get the picture. SIO3
  14. That has happened to my family many times while swimming there. Pulled out the goggles and watched bluegill and rockbass dart up and peck people while swimming. They mostly pecked at the colors on the swimsuites. SIO3
  15. Check with Phil or his staff when you get there for the latest info. SIO3

  17. Thanks Dutch! He's on Taney we want Tablerock. I have rented his Point Royale Condo earlier this year and it was great. I've also asked him this question in the past and he doesn't have anywhere to recommend. The family wants to be on the water at Trock to swim, boat and relax. I on the other hand want to trout fish. Thanks Techo. I went to his website and he's not on the water. Keep em coming guys. SIO3
  18. Hey guys Can anyone recommend a resort on the water south of the dam? I can't sift through all the listings to find out which ones are in that area. We need a 3 bedroom cabin or condo. Big Cedar is booked but I don't know of any others in that area. We don't want to mess with the traffic on Indian Point everyday to get to the dam to trout fish. Thanks in advance! SIO3
  19. I thouhgt it was pay per pound? Can you just CnR? Inquiring minds want to know. SIO3
  20. Are they legal in the management section? If so I'll give em a try on my next trip. SIO3
  21. Those are all nice!!! I knew Bman would come with both guns blazing. I think I've seen those pictures somewhere else before ?!! SIO3
  22. I've never weighed any but I do measure them. Mid twenty inch for both browns and rainbows at Taney. A couple were fat as footballs. Some of the better fighters have been right around 20 inches. I used to bass fish Taney years ago and had some pretty good sized fish around twenty inches. I would rent a boat from the marina in old town Branson and the guy working there would look at my baitcasters and spinning rods and say "you might want to try smaller line and lures for those trout". I just laughed and said okay. My bigest Arkansas fish are a 27 inch brown and a 30 inch rainbow. I have pictures of both of those fish. I thought the 30 inch rainbow might have broken the Arkansas record but I caught it at McC's and let it go. 17 inch girth I think. SIO3
  23. Man that looks like fun!!! Nice post you big hillbilly!! SIO#
