I think the idea that the banks will be lined with people fishing with nasty wads of chicken liver is whats turning them off. Or the miles of unattended trot lines, jug lines, or limb lines. Kind of turns my stomach as well, but I am sure there could be rules inacted to curb that.

Drew, Your lack of resolutions matches my own. Are we destined to catch nothing but 12 inch stocker rainbows? I hate to say that the 10 inch gills are better sport, but so be it. The truth can hurt a little! I just want a variety with the given of something other than 3 to 5 pound Browns. Valid point Al, but lets not forget we needed a strong hold in the area and years from now it will pay off. You also make a good point that most the terrorist of 9-11 were Saudi. And if we are to push the buttons of the Saudi government then we must have a back up in the oil region. All this is an orchestrate to our security as a nation. Militarily and Economically. This whole thing isnt black and white. There is alot of issues and cards being played here. To say it was wrong is like saying FDR ruined the US economy by starting welfare and Social Security. Some legacies are started with anomosity. FDR had alot of people outraged with his policies. But he is seen as a great Prez today. I say this being a hard core Republican. Abe Lincoln was probably the most hated Prez of all time until Goerge W, but we put his actions right up there with Martin King! I would be safe to bet that the Prez that handled 9-11 and the war on terror will be known in high merits in the future. There were 2.5 million union soldiers in the civil war. 750, 000 of them were German immigrants fleeing a war torn fight for democracy. If it werent for those Battle savvy soldiers this country will still be divided. I only bring that up because that is what we have in the Mid East. Battle savvy soldiers with strong beliefs that they are in the right and we are in the wrong. Sure, they would rather have a soft target and thier promise of multiple virgins after death, but our prescence in thier holy land will attract them closer to thier home. It is inconveniant enough for just myself to travel around so I know it would be prefered to lay roadside bombs and be the cowards they are. All that and a burning hornets nest, I am still throwing rocks! Haha

Jim, We learned real fast what Russia knew all along! A full out war in Afghanistan is suicide. Let me emphasize the phrase Level Battle ground! And the intention was purposeful. Being in Iraq we drew terrorist to us there, where it is militarily more suited for success. That was the purpose I believe. Plus we can camp out right next to Iran and let them know we can shock and awe thier arses too! Lets not forget that syria and iran were probably the main reason we chose to sink roots in Iraq. Not Saddam. Saddam was just the excuse we used to establish our power in the region. Like it or not, we are there and the plan is working! As far as being there a 100 years....It wouldnt surprise me if we are there for longer. We have never really left any conquest in the past. As I have stated before..... We are still in Korea, Japan, and Germany. Half a century after we cleaned up those messes. It is and will continue to be of importance to have our forces in those places and especially in the Mid-East. So quit your belly aching and accept the cold hard facts. Your sentiment is not shared by our men and women serving there. My step son has done 3 tours over thier. One of them in the first conflict 18 years ago. The concensus with service members that have been there is that if we would have done this in 1990, that we would probably still have the Towers!

Considering that they would need to be stocked and managed as Put and Grow, that would get pretty expensive, not to mention dutiful. Oh, lets also add against the law!

Lies or no Lies, Iraq was one of the axis of evils. Not to mention that we needed a military playground to fight the war on terror. So we set up on level ground and said "you wanted us? now you have us Come at get us!" Keeps them from coming to American soil by virtually taking the fight to them. I think it was excelllent strategy! Getting rid of Saddam was just the cherry on top. I hate to listen to people belly ache about the costs. Ask the families of those who lost loved ones when the towers fell if its justified!

I wish I could find the source, but it has been reported that the majority voter was born before 1960 and has little more than a high school education. The same report said that they(majority voters) also made less than 40k a year. I have also read, that the top 2% of income earners vote the least but will give the most money to a campaign. So go figure.

I can see what Taxi is trying to say. He might not be the best on a keyboard but the guy has a point. And believe it or not, it is guys like Taxi that are the majority concensus in this country. Not all of us have college degrees! And the majority of the voters in this nation have far less intellegance than I have. And I didnt even finish 2 years of college. It is a valid point that to debate over an interpetation of the language of 230 years ago cant be too difficult. I have this same issue with my teenage kids who try to negotiate what I said two weeks ago. We all need to keep in mind that those that dont like the rules will pick apart the obvious in thier attempt to get what they want. Thats why I give the Supreme Court more credit than the Senate! At least they are reading the law and dont have to answer to the lobby that has just paid for thier latest vacation! Al said it best. We all should feel assured. Like Taxi, I feel that the vote was too close for comfort. That is my only beef. As well as his! I would like to add something concerning Nobama(I love that phrase) versus John McCain that Al did bring to surface. It is true that you cant really have experiance for being prez until you actually become one. It is by far the hardest job in America. That it is all about who you surround yourself with. Thats exactly why I have stood up for Bush. When I was in the Army, Dick was secretary of defense. Colin Powell ran a war! His Dad was Prez! And also was vice Prez for 8 years under Reagon. The best Prez ever since Lincoln! You cant get more support than that! John McCain will have that support structure. And being the fact we are at war, he will have undeniably strong leadership skills. He was an officer and without question a leader as a POW amongst his peers. I cant see Nobama(still loving that) being able to do anything. Clinton rode the wave of Reagonomics and he did nothing to stop terror. Wich was evident during his time in office. Have we forgot the african bombings or the USS Cole? He knew the escalation, and it was dumped on Goerge W when it finally hit home with 9-11. Nobama will be able to do nothing. Inspiration is moot. Sorry Al, But to inspire wont accomplish nothing in this day of age. We need a wartime Prez and Nobama wants to run away from it. We dont need a prez that will stick his head in the sand. We need a guy that will move on with the American Agenda. That is to protect us from attacks. And to let the world know that we will kick thier butt without a thought! Nobama wants to pull all our troops home so nobody gets hurt. He obviously dont know the mentality of our soldiers. They want to fight! When I was in the military I did! And after I got out and got into contract civilian training of troops they all wanted to fight. The wives might complain but the guys really want to be in the action! So moral isnt an issue! Its the liberal bullshit. We have a volunteer Service. They want to do what they are trained to do. John McCain knows this fact. He has been in Iraq. He has been in afghanistan. Not once but dozens of times! Nobama cant even handle the guns and drugs in his own district. And he has never been in Iraq yet alone afghanistan. This will be the truth. Why do you think he is avoiding debates with McCain! Its because John knows our wars better than he does. Also, McCain has been the writer of border security. And Has written passed legislation that control illegal imagrants. What has Nobama done? Nothing
