I am thinking that "reasonable" will be an issue debated. I dont think that this will end anytime soon. Personally, I dont have ammo for 2/3rd of my collection. My dad has the ultimate in collection. Including a 1923 Thompson machine gun and an original 45 colt carried by an officer in the civil war. I do know that we cant let a single federal legislation pass, for it will just set precidence for more restrictions. I realize that all the supreme court rulings did was nothing but free up the right to carry hand guns in DC, but we cant risk any advocate against our rights or it will lead to more restrictions. It will snow ball. With no doubt. The way the adverse is attacking the firearms, it has a residue of the prohibition days. Americans will want it more if they cant have it. Will cause wars between the regulators and the public. And as I have mentioned, My family can defend themselves. I do agree that we cant just let anyone carry. But it is a known fact that the elemant that we dont want carrying will find a way anyway. I say we need to work on laws against gun crimes other than to blame the presence of a firearm in a home. I for one would use a baseball bat before I use a gun. Its alot more humiliating and you can beat the hell out of them without letting them off by death. Of course I am a sadist. Mess with me and I will make sure you hurt. Lets not put aside martial arts, I have a black belt in Kung Fu. Shaolin to be precise and I dont need a gun to settle things. 18 years I have been training, Just make my day punk! Is the government going to monitor me as a lethal weapon? Haha

Hey Al I lived in Panama for years. Its a great place to live. In fact, There are many places I wouldnt might living at. If it were economically feasible. Dano, I dont carry a sidearm here in the states. I really dont see the need. The US is rather safe. I never left the house without one in Panama. I spose I should dig me a bunker someplace so I can hide my collection from the liberal wolf cryers. When did it all of a sudden mean that if you have guns that you must be some militant. I collect firearms. Some are probably illegal now but they werent when I bought them. Such as my fully autos. I have a few assault rifles that cost me huge. Including an AK and a M16AR2. Havent fired them in years. I just like to collect them. Does that make me a threat? or a domestic terrorist? I dont think so. I bet if you rounded up all the firearms in my family you could start a small war. My brother has a matching pair of MAC10s and 3 UZIs. And he is a cop! The gun culture in this country is huge. This country and its power was established with a backbone of bullets. How was the west won? Its our maverick gun toting cowboy attitude towards the world that is in part why we are the most powerful nation on the planet. And now the government wants to make its citizens impotant? Are they gonna ban hunting next? We cant give them an inch or it will escalate into an all out crusade against every firearm. even bb guns wont be safe to own!.

I had all my firearms in Panama. Didnt even need a permit to carry a pistol. I did have to register my sidearms while on the bases, but once off American soil I didnt. I am sure there are plenty of countries that have lax to no regs on firearms.

Well, I am on a fixed income so wouldnt be able to spend more than what I could get for a few items that I am trying to sell. I would prefer a trade scenario. I have a 92 Grand Am, a 87 45hp Merc Classic Fifty, and of course my 85 14ft Seanymph with trailer. The motor is too big for the boat and leaks water in the lower unit but runs very well, The boat is aluminum deep v, the trailer is a break away and I had the tongue extended for easier backing, And the car is the best deal even at 146k it runs great. I might have $3000 I could get out of the three? What you wanting for your rig?

35 hp short shaft. Tiller steer. Just starts period. Haha One of my brothers is a cop in Woodbine Iowa. Not far from Omaha. He says he is looking for me as well, but no word. I might just have to bite the bullet and get a whole different rig. I really dont want to go through this ordeal again. It is seriously messing up my summer. Not that the weather isnt doing a good job of that anyway. Haha

FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS.......................... As an long standing NRA member, all this proves is that the gun lobbys need alot more money! The decision was too close for my liking. I for one think, if I couldnt have my firearms, I would just pack up and move out of the country.

Channels only require warm water to spawn. As an additional Put and Grow species they would be fine. And Wipers, being they are in the striper Family would be a terrible selection for the lake. For one, the lake isnt big enough to support the colonies they prefer and second, thier forage base(mostly threadfin type shad) isnt prevailent in the lake. To add that forage to the lake would tap to much of what the trout eat to survive.

Hunter, At least your hunting for a motor over 90 horse. Tons of them available. the mid sized motors are hard to find. Plenty of them in Wisconsin an minnasota, but locally I have hit a big fat zero. Chem-Teach, As long as you raise your motor and troll into the backs of the coves you will be alright. Red, Here are a couple pics of the rig I was using. Hope it helps you understand. The jig head on the white hook is a floater, not a sinker.

If all it takes is forage for the Channel Cat introduction then this fishing report is proof positive! There is more forage than there is apex. I was told by Russ that he caught a 6 pound Drum! Be sure to check out my investigation on forage fish. I will continue to catch more forage fish yet again tommorrow. If there is plenty for me then for sure a few thousand channels wont hurt any. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?s...c=12358&hl= If I can get enough of you guys to back me, maybe MDC will listen? I will be happy with a cat population to add on to our great trout fishing.

They are done spawning. Being they are sunfish they school in swarms in extremely shallow water. Where ever they can get away from the cold water. It is typical summer Taney patterns. It was hot today, and they never even got close to the shade. I lost probably a gallon of hydration. I was soaked with sweat. Today I was fishing up in crystal cove and there were literally hundreds of them staged in 1 to 2 feet of water. You could see them in massive groups around any mid water locations. I basically just sight fished and never got any further than a twenty square foot section. In fact, when the wind kicked up I just dropped anchor and caught 50 of them without moving. I saw the same conditions in bull, with a population of a few thousand! I started to have that nagging motor problem and decided to fish closer to my dock. To be safe. As the water fluctuates more, the gills will start to group tighter together. This is very routine for this area of the lake. Sad thing is, the Bass are starting to become more predictable and the fact I cant get no more than a 1/4 mile from my dock is starting to irritate me. In the summer the bass can stack up like fence posts down below long beach, stalking these schools of brim. Rest assured, the bass have plenty to eat. To be honost, this year has been showing a serious influx of giant gills. Over the past 3 decades I have never seen so much forage fish. I also saw schools of shad in the thousands off the coontails near bull creek. With my handicap with boat motor trouble, I can sure say that I am grateful, for after pulling the few bass I can draw, there is always those gills to keep me spoiled. Im sure a fly guy could do well but my method will catch you the most. Super ultra light rigs to make the fight more fun of course, a series of hooks, red trout hooks, palimar style with the smallest grub you can find. I use a three hook line about 6 inches apart with smoke as the trailer, white in the middle and a watermelon red on top. It probably dont matter what color for most the bites are reaction bites. I have caught 2 and 3 at a time with this set up. And there is no need for any weights. I know alot of you fly guys want to catch these guys. Use a multiple presentation. Two or even three flies at once. Crazy when you have 3 big gills fighting at once! If any of you want to hit the water with the Big M just let me know. If your gonna be on the water anyway I would love to fish water my motor dont take me! Im having a heck of a time finding a 35 Hp. Even 25hp is scarce in these parts. Hope I was of help Hunter

Did some gill fishing this afternoon. Caught over 70, kind of lost track around 65. Even caught a couple of sport bass. You fly guys ought to come down for some of this. Its a blast. Not a single one was under 5 inches. My biggest 3 were all 10 inches. with most of them between 6 and 8 inches. Great fighters.

Give me time, when I taste it I will share!

Pound for pound, a six inch gill will fight harder than an 8 inch trout. But getting a hook out of a gill can prove to be much more difficult sometimes. They have such tiny little mouths.

Tourists! Haha

Haha It looked like a little fuzzy thing. I dont fly fish. Just repeating what Phil said in the report.
-
Trout may spawn in the tailwaters but the majority of that is moot for they are either unsuccessful or the eggs become victim to other trout.
-
I just saw on KY3 that the Neosho Hatchery is going to send trout to Iowa to replenish what was lost in the floods.
-
Phil was using a red humpy on this day. He was targeting gills though. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12260

Sounds like the same thing that is rotting reds tomatoes, too much water and poor drainage. In the case of the squash though you should be alright as long as the flowers arent affected.

I always found that the "Hands on" approach is better. Walk creeks and start turning over rocks. Then catch them by hand. Plus it is alot more fun. If you can get the kids involved, you will be surprised at how fast you can fill a 5 gallon bucket.

Good food for the browns!

Relatively speaking, It all depends on what your needs will be. Boats, guides, food, ect.??
