  1. What are you asking for her?
  2. I guess so Thom.
  3. The Doc is always talking about taking tests but he never tells me who the Teacher is. I hope she is hot.
  4. I was just referring to your statement about Roark being the choice place to get away from current. I can describe a dozen other places below Roark that are just as good if not better. Your comment kind of made the rest of the lake seem obsolete. I agree with the difficulty in fishing this current. It doesnt slow down a whole bunch where I am. Haha, and there is a good reason why I wont ever go back to guiding again. I am all about agreeing to disagree.
  5. Haha Feel free to ignore me Amish. Sticks and Stones
  6. Phil, I would give them thier money back if they didnt do it my way. You have to understand that I guided 8 years of the 10 years I was a guide in other countries. Four in Panama, 3 in Canada, and a little less than 2 in Honduras. The rest was spent part time as a fly guide in Wyoming and South Dakota. The majority of my clients were doing as much site seeing as fishing. I dictated where to catch the fish. And they were happy for it. Now, I have been offered guiding jobs by numerous outfits here in missouri and the southeast( SC, GA, FL) but I wont cater to clients that wont let me be the guide. I wont deal with the masses of those that seek only trophys. I wont cater to a single bait fisher. It will always be my way. I can be judgemental Phil. I dont go up there and fish the fast water. I might not catch as many fish as you do but I catch bigger fish. I know the lower Taney and YES you can catch stockers all day if you use Bait. I just prefer to catch Bass and Brownies over bows and bluegills. So do me a favor my friend and dont knock the action below roark creek.
  7. I have annual areas on my property for them. Checked recently and they are to small to pick.
  8. Lower Taney has them running if you want to chase. They never stop moving for long here. Have to follow the herd.
  9. I used to guide for salt water cats in the Panama Canal. The rigs are simple. Pretty much the same as in the Sippi. Wont take much to adapt for your friend.
  10. Haha Were the cops laughing?
  11. Al is usually always right, got to love him!
  12. If you say so. I rarely would let my clients dictate location. Why pay for a guide if you already know where you want to go. Especially if your gonna bait fish. If your bait fishing, you can hide from the wind pretty much anywhere and catch stockers on Taney. Might as well fish one of the parks if you want to rub elbows. People never cease to annoy me.
  13. Why were there so many boats in Roark? I spent 3 hours this afternoon hanging siding on my house and only saw 4 boats. And I can see over a mile in either direction and a good mile up bull. Why would you fish crowded water when there is so much uncongested lake to pick from? I guess I dont get it.
  14. Nice size whites. The ones I have been chasing here on the Lower T are about 2/3rds of the size of those. Please, no jokes about how size doesnt matter. Haha
  15. Thom, none taken There is a good reason why my nick name is Big M. My family have been calling me a Big Mouth since I was a kid. I have matured over time, but that Mouth seems to keep on blabbing. Haha I even named my boat Big M.
  16. Life is too short not to have fun with it.
  17. Thanks Thom I didnt see the link. Haha I have been known to shoot my mouth off before getting the whole picture. That I cannot deny. As far as local fishing, I couldnt tell Abe from Stonewall. None of it means a thing to me. So, If I was sleeping through the race, it was probably because I didnt run in it. I know the fish, not the people. .
  18. DC Awwwww, You dont like "Fish ala' Ecoli"? Haha, just add a little extra tarragon and garlic. It will be fine. Haha
  19. Haha I am sure Phil will argue the fact of wether he made a forum just for myself. I was under the impression that he broke up a few lakes in order to specify regions of those waters due to difference in diversities. Second, I have never claimed to "know it all" nor "be the best". Although I believe that at close to 2000 hours a year of dragging lines in the Lower Taney, that does qualify as being probably one of the most experianced on this end of the lake. Finally, I have dedicated a lifetime to the sport, in almost every aspect, and Yes I have been to alot of different places. Yet, I can not claim to have been everywhere. Sarcasm aside. Alot of of places known for great fishing I have yet to go and some will probably never see. Sure would be fun to go fish South Eastern Russia and my all time dream is to fish the Amazon. I think if Jackie D is as good of a guide as he has been endorsed on this thread then he probably brushed off my suggestion the minute he read it. As Bill validly pointed out, I didnt have a clue as to Jackies clients or the situation that was present. I just commented on a pattern that works on the Lower to assist if possible. Not an ounce of ridicule was in the statement. Jackie D, pardon me, I am not in the loop of who are/arent guides nor do I care to be. With you being a new OAF member I was curious to who you were so I threw the question at you. Sometimes intentions and more so, tones, can be misread on a forum based dialogue. Rest assured that if I was questioning your manhood, you wouldnt have any doubts. Haha You can ask anyone who has been a long time member of OAF,(especially Phil, who gets the pleasure of sifting through it all), and most will tell you that I have a Big Mouth and thrive off controvesy and differences of opinion. As it was pointed out, I do so without malice wich continues to be the case here. I would like to think, that all in all, I am here to exchange ideas and have friendly reciprocity.
  20. DC I hear its going to get worse. I guess they are clearing everything out of Shadow Rock Park in preparation.
  21. Welcome!
  22. Welcome!
  23. Your welcome Don. You were probably wise not to work too hard in the channels when they are running more than 2 generaters. Even with a crank, the bass in those areas will either be absent or shut down. The trout on the other hand...........
  24. I meant no disrespect with my suggestion. I just know where the bass on Lower Taney are in virtually every situation. I was just sharing a bit of the three decades of experiance I have on the Lower. As far as wearing the "guide hat", I have guided in 4 countries, for almost 10 years, both fresh and salt water. I am well aware of the duties towards giving the "client" the benifits of your expertise. I for one never let the clients inexperiance dictate where I took them fishing. I took them to the fish, PERIOD. If they werent knowledgable enough for the situation I just took advantage of that obstacle to teach them something new. That is what most people want. To Learn how to be a better fisherman.
