  1. Contrary to the to popular belief, I have consistantly offered tips and advice. Maybe you should read some of my previous posts. As did Hammer. I even state in my reports, the area of the lake I had fished and many times state what I used. Granted, I am not gonna put my most cherished applications on a public forum, but I do give generic outlines of how to approach the Lower Lake.
  2. I normally despise going to garage sales, but I got dragged to a few over the weekend. Am glad I did too. I found this old Jim Beam bottle. Dont know much about it, but am guessing it is early 70s. Is anyone familiar with it?
  3. John Haha I appreciate your knowledge of the obvious and am glad you came to my defense. Although Leonard makes a valid point. There are big fish all over the lake. I was just trying to convey that your odds of catching more of them increase in deeper water. As far as his pics, I catch fish of that caliber on a weekly basis. My guess is that neither one is over 6 pounds. But photos can be decieving. Anyway, Anybody can catch fish above branson. It takes a little "time-in-grade" to go below roark creek and do the same. I dont have to emphasize that fact. Just ask anyone who knows the lake and they will agree. To all you demurring sorts........ When it comes to my ego, or any self-inflating perceptions I may have, you can say what ever you want to justify the way you handle your own covetousness. My notion is, until you can say you spent 2000 hours a year on Taneycomo, upper or lower, Your opinions of my abilities are absolutley insubstantial.

    Super Bowl

I have despised the Pats for as long as I can remember. It is just a rivalry thing. Im a lifelong Dolphin fan. And before you can say anything, Where is Parcells now?..Haha In my opinion the Dolphins still have the best cheerleaders.....wink
  5. Your not likley to find "brushpiles" in the 20 plus feet that I fish. I focus on logs. I have caught 26 brownies over 10 pounds with that technique. With my biggest being 14 pounds that I got in '03. Can anyone say they have that beat? I doubt it.
  6. I replied to your PM yesterday. You didnt get it?
  7. I have no access to my blog. Phil is aware and I am waiting. Just want to let you know there is still a problem. Thanx

    Super Bowl

I wouldnt mind perfection if it was any team but the Patriots.
  9. An 18 inch brown dont even qualify to hit my digitals. An 18 inch bow might though. If its fat enough. You need to fish further down stream.
  10. You cant beat a good military field jacket. Easily found at any army surplus store.
  11. Alot better climate today than yesterday. I mainly focused on brownies today. Only caught one(3-5), but the bows were frisky. Seven of those, two of them hit the digital.(2-10,1-13). Did throw some raps for bass but only caught 3 sports and 1 that was small enough for my little 55 gal aquarium. I think even my goldfish would have eaten him. Haha
  12. PMS= Pretty Mad Squid...Wink
  13. I am mostly retired. I do a little part-time writing for an online web provider out of my home, but other than that, My big decision for the day is usually what I cook for dinner. Haha
  14. I even sent Phil an email and it came back DAMON. Glad to see it up and running but I still see probs with posts and PM. Also, havnt seen my blog in almost a week.

    Super Bowl

I know the odds are against it but PLEASE....... Patriots LOSE!!!
  16. I can do the can method. Learned it while surf fishing. Best way to catch bait. Of course I prefer the bud cans....wink
  17. Only fished a couple hours today. That wind got cold around 3:30. I fished the south bank between Rockaway and Long Beach point. Caught 2 sport bass and one bow.
  18. I thought "the rock" was on the other side of the dam. Haha
  19. Ive seen guys hold 3 feet of line in thier hand and catch fish. Cant get cheaper than that...Wink...shuffle shuffle jig jig Haha Im sure all you fly guys love that response.
  20. Maybe the current caught the boat and pulled it in a little. If so it must have been a heavy boat. My guess is, Cooper creek ramp is very steep. Easy to get momentum sliding on ice and the water does drop off fairly quick at the water line. I personally thought that the ramp was built fairly safe. Deep traction grooves as well. Must have been alot of boats coming out of the water that day for there to be that much ice build up. Of course, I havnt heard if there was any error on the drivers part either.
  21. Had an Uncle and a bunch of his buds that were all Truckers having probs of thieves taking stuff out of thier Cabs in the 70s. Stealing fuzz busters and CBs mostly. They started riding with little viscous dogs. A couple even went as far as to go exotic and get pet bobcats and lynx. I have even heard tales of guys hiring Lot Lizards(prostitutes) to watch the rigs while they ate or showered. Another story I heard is of a thief that got caught trying to break in a truck. The trucker bungy-corded the thief to his load of steal and cut him loose 2 1/2 days later, 2000 miles away, and with an arse beating of his life. Long way to be tied up exposed to weather without food or drink. Yet alone no bathroom stops. Haha. I bet the trucker took his load to the truck wash before delivering it.
  22. After a good rain hits the Springfield area the James River gets kind of muddy from all the run off but the water coming in from Crane is clear and cold. You will find that in that situation the smallies stack up at the mouth of crane where the two water sources meet.

    Ooops!

I seen it done on an episode of a cop show that patrolled the party coves at Lake Mead. The pontoon had a partydeck on top of it and the crazy drunks got her top heavy with too many people.

  25. Thats too bad. When my brother and I were little kids we used to see who could swim this lake the longest before our muscles cramped from the cold. If I remember right it never laster much more than 10 minutes.
