I wish squirrels were all I had to worry about. I had to pull all my corn up. It was all covered in pink mold.

Welcome eh!

Sorry Red, you said powerbait and my mind just glazed over and I had to eat another couple jars! I think I am an addict. What's in this stuff????
-
I don't know what your talking about Shawncat. I have a source that smuggles in more than I can use. Just hope I cant overdose on this stuff. Im up to four jars a day.

Koumbayah!!!! But whining all the same. This message board is based on mutual respect. It was organized to help fisherman catch fish. Most of us practice catch and release but we all have a respect for the game we hunt. The fact that some of us keep fish, should be totally irrelevent. This subject has posed many times on OAF. It is literally a dead horse, I have a hundred more pics of dead horses if it deems necessary. But as long as the law sees fit to allow fisherman to keep fish, whether I keep or release is my choice. I happen to like those farm raised rainbows!

rwolfe, I especially liked the "beating a dead horse" Icon As far as the rest of you, I am not giving my POWERBAIT to a fish. I feel stronger than ever and I am on my fouth bottle today!

Powerbait gives you wings!!!!!

Dakota tribal wisdom says that when you discover you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount. However, Here at OAF we often try other strategies with dead horses, including the following: 1. Buying a stronger whip. 2. Changing riders. 3. Say things like, "This is the way we have always ridden this horse." 4. Appointing a committee to study the horse. 5. Arranging to visit other sites to see how they ride dead horses. 6. Increasing the standards to ride dead horses. 7. Appointing a tiger team to revive the dead horse. 8. Creating a training session to increase our riding ability. 9. Comparing the state of dead horses in todays environment. 10. Change the requirements declaring that "This horse is not dead." 11. Hire contractors to ride the dead horse. 12. Harnessing several dead horses together for increased speed. 13. Declaring that "No horse is too dead to beat." 14. Providing additional funding to increase the horse's performance. 15. Do a Cost Analysis study to see if contractors can ride it cheaper. 16. Purchase a product to make dead horses run faster. 17. Declare the horse is "better, faster and cheaper" dead. 18. Form a quality circle to find uses for dead horses. 19. Revisit the performance requirements for horses. 20. Say this horse was procured with cost as an independent variable. 21. Promote the dead horse to a supervisory position. 22. Make horse flavored powerbait.

I love you too JS! I just ate two bottles of powerbait, I feel pumped already!
-
Interesting, I have a friend named Ryan too! In fact he is writing this right now.

I thought PowerBait was like a nutrient suppliment, or steroids for fish. After they steal the bait off your hook they eat it and get really pissed off that there isnt anymore so then they go around harassing fly-fisherman! I guess I was wrong!

I agree with Phil, I get alot of grief about not showing pics of my big brownies, but it is true. If you want it to live you have to release it instantly. I cant tell you how many times while fishing alone I wished I had someone with a camera next to me. My average brownie might only be 8 pounds or so, but even at that size I am concerned enough to hurry it back into the water. Bass on the other hand, I will plop into a livewell for a minute to get the pic. But after that even they go back in the drink. Browns, as well as big rainbows, are way to sensitive to temps and handling. Sure, they may swim off, but they will die if you pull them out of the water for more than a few minutes. Especially if they are over 3 pounds.

Am I seeing a love connection?...haha

I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once!

I was advised not to disclose what I am working on. At least until we have patents. I have had patents on 20 or so "Ideas" before with no avail. I always seem to shoot for jupiter when the moon should be adequate enough. Haha

I dont know if anyone pays attention to my signature, but I have an interesting quote by Ray Scott concerning Catch and Release. He doesnt claim to be the founder of the Catch and Release and gives full credit to a group of fisherman.

Tactics/Antics...who cares. Im bi-polar.

Im jealous!!!! I have spent years of focusing for nothing but Brownies. I still havent broke the 15# barrier.

I'm still lurking around. I have been burning the candle at both ends. My brother has me working on prototypes to a couple inventions we are working on. Throw in the fact I am right in the middle of a book that I am writing, staying up all , and sleeping mostly during the day. My creativity comes in waves. I am sure you guys will get sick of my opinions all over again, soon enough. Haha Let's not forget that my boat is not working, so I cant get out there and do my reports. But on the lighter side, I will be getting a replacement boat after the first of the month. So you will again be able to follow my tactics here on the Lower.

I see both Bull Shoals and Table Rock being better than ever 3 to 4 years from now.

Skeeter, It will happen and the circus as you call it will continue. Just without the actual fish. Instead of the weigh-in being the event, the "live feed" leader board and well scripted film footage and photography will keep the circus alive. Its all choreography! The events will be more interactive during the events. Instead of waiting for the ending to climax the event it will be the clock that keeps and peaks the interests of us that watch the events. As far as implementing the same into local clubs, They will have the same tech available to them. Sure it may take time to impress the need, but I really dont think anyone in any of these local derbys wants to kill Bass. But I do believe they are lazy and would rather dump dead Bass than to clean them and eat them. As far as the MDC is concerned, if we can prove the tech on a professional level, we will have enough money and influence to make it mandatory for all clubs to use the same efficiency. First of all, we need it on the books that no tourney can opporate without a permit. Until that happens, forcing laws on such operations might as well be moot. If I am correct, they all have money in tow. No different than a bingo hall. How hard will it be to manage these small tourneys if the state can moniter every bingo hall in the state.??? Especially when we are talking about our natural resources. Give me a year to establish the system. Another year to convince the Pros to impliment the system and then we go after the MDC to pull in the reins on these maverick fishing clubs. Like I stated before, I am going to make this a life mission. It isnt just going to happen instantly. When the ball is rolling it will snowball. Everyone will want to live up to the standards of the Pros. That is a given, and if they dont, we try to lobby for laws on organized local tourneys.
-
I am telling you, the tech is out there to make a instant catch and release tourney feasible. I will make it my mission in life. It will be happening. Ray Scott is a close friend to my family and MR. Satellite himself happens to be my brother. I think between all of our resources we can make it happen. Did I mention my cousin is Forrest Wood? Bill Dance showed his respects at the funeral of my Gramps. I will make a point to never see a Bass in a live well ever again. There is no point in it. Weigh-ins are nothing but to brag. Can do the same via satelite! Lets end this cycle of abuse! Phil and bill both agree that If I was to compete in thier trout tourneys I could be a dominating factor. I refuse to compete because I would have to truck my fish 6 miles upstream for a weigh in! If I could just record the catch via satelite and let them go.? Then I would win every tourney. Haha, You always catch better fish below Bull Creek. Anyway, My point is made.

With the heat turning on and the constant dumping of frigid water out of Table Rock Dam, the Lower Lake is consumed with fog. If you venture into the lower Taney in the evenings and early mornings expect to fish in the fog. I cant express enough that you cant run wide open in these situations. Not to mention you cant see debris and there are numerous other fisherman in the center of the lake. We dont need any accidents. Looking out my window as I type this, I cant even see 20 feet in front of my face. Granted, as the sun rises it will burn off but lets be careful out there.
