  1. Follow up - Went to the same point at 6 a.m. this morning - had the same results as yesterday - a limit plus of keeper SM but they were a bit smaller today plus one really nice channel cat that we just had for supper. When it slowed I tried the things suggested above - fluke, stick, spoon, smaller and different types of swim baits, grub plus all the stuff above from the first day. Did see fish on the locator again at 8-10 ft; however, I now think allot of the surface activity that occurred after 8 a.m. were carp. Given that I am kinda new at this and TR I'm thinking that one of you guys could have kept the party going later into the day per Dan above. I'm VERY GRADFUL FOR YOUR INPUT AND THE FORUM AS WELL. THANKS AGAIN.
  2. Seen a cougar south of Branson West a couple years ago but can't prove it.
  3. My eighbor just told me that they suspended the search due to the holiday boat traffic according to the 5/28 6 pm news. That's gotta be hard on the family.
  4. Suggest you search the forum for the America the Beautiful parks pass - I think it's $10 and it does not expire - you may have to be an old fart for this (like me) - there was a thread on this subject a few months back.
  5. Thanks to all for the suggestions - I will try again tomorrow.
  6. Fished the darn area from 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 am today. Water temp was 70 deg. and starting to clear but North Indian got brown again after the recent rains. Caught 10 SM and one Spot - all keepers but one, all off of a single main lake point in about 4-6 fow. Fish were 3 - 3.5 lbs., except for the one short Used a 4 inch pearl Swim Shad. The fish turned off about 7:30 a.m. so I backed out to deeper water and could see them on the graph suspended at about 8 fow. and they were feeding big time all around me but I could not get bit after 7:30. I threw swimbaits, WP, spinnerbait, shad crankbait, and even the Ned and a tube bait. The question - What could have been done to get bit after 7:30 since the fish were obviously still feeding? Thanks Bobby PS - Recall I'm still kinda new toTR.
  7. You never know what weird thing can happen. I always pick up floating trash and a couple years ago I was circling and circling around a pop can trying to pick it up. I finally got close and as I reached over the side of the boat, my fat gut laid on the throttle and almost threw me out of the boat. Since then I use the net to pick up the trash and wear the PFD and kill lanyard. Bobby
  8. Dan, thanks for the info. Bobby
  9. Thanks - going there tomorrow.
  10. Ben, Excellent Thanks Bobby
  11. Bill, Thanks a bunch. And thanks for your most recent fishing report - I was out on the lake a couple hours ago with that info when the troller quit. Bobby
  12. My Humminbird Powerdrive broke today - won't run motor but all other functions work. There is a clicking but no motor run. Can you guys tell me the best fastest repair place? Thanks Bobby
  13. I am upgrading to Humminbird Helix and eventually to I-Pilot (I use a Minnkota Powerdrive and the built in universal transducer). Question - Which Map Chip do you think is best for TR? Thanks Bobby
  14. sorry this was a bad post - why does the text from my last post appear when I start a new post?
  15. Fished Point 5 area from 5-8 pm. WT 67-70 degrees. Water is turning green from that nasty brown that it was from Point 5 to darn. Visibility about 3 ft. Long Creek area still brown. The Spots and LM are now on the gravel points were I was catching SM a few days ago. Caught several but only this one keeper. Bobby
  16. I had my bow locator break and I'm looking to by a direct replacement. (Just not ready to upgrade to brand new yet.) Any body out there wanting to sell one? Don't really need the transducer, just the control head. Thanks Bobby

  18. Now that's what I was looking for. Bobby
  19. OK guys I was actually looking for some fun responses like doing donuts around his boat yet knowing that we would all just move on to another spot. Heck, I've only been here a few months and I can generally catch some fish just by moving down the lake which is just what I did the other day. That said, I tend to agree with Merc1997 and Champ188 that just maybe if we say something to these rude guys that just maybe they will think next time. Then again I do like my "doing donuts" idea. Bobby
  20. Fished darn area 4/30/16 in the afternoon for a couple hours. WT 66-67, color still nasty, visibility about one foot. Caught a few shorts but only one keeper SM (see pic). Fish found in about 10 fow. Was fishing a 50 yard deep pocket and had another boat pull into the pocket so I motored around the point to an adjacent pocket but a few minutes later here he comes again. So, what is the proper distance to stay from another fisherman and what is the proper response for a guy that gets too close. Here are my ideas: 1) Wait until the boats nearly touch each other then jump into his boat and punch his lights out. (Probably a bad idea as (a) he may punch my lights out or (b) I might get arrested.) 2) Scream and curse at him . (May not be good for reason 1(a) above.) 3) Leave the area but create big time wake by doing donuts around his boat as I leave. (May not be good as the space was too small and I might damage my lower unit on rocks or stumps). 4) Ask him if his mother ever taught him any manners. (Probably no good as his mother probably abandoned him on the Church steps.) 5) Take photo of his boat and post on OAF. 6) Politely discuss proper etiquette with him. (Again may end up with 1 (a) above.) 7) Leave the area for a different part of the lake.(Which is what I did) 8) Other ideas - please specify. Bobby Bobby
  21. Caught some of these fishing just off shore near Rivera, Tx after duck hunting down there. For you duck hunters, the interesting thing was that the Pintails just flood right into the decoys even if you are exposed as opposed to up this way.
  22. Excellent!!!
  23. Sorry again , typo darn area, Point 2. I'm old - bad fingers and bad eyes.
  24. Mitch thanks for fixing the pic and to all on OAF for such good info and for welcoming a new guy. Bobby
