Fished 2 days in a row, something I usually don't do when fishing Table Rock with the one-hour drive added to the fishing time, it makes for a couple of long days.
Yesterday the fishing was pretty good, so with a similar weather forecast I thought today would fish just as well, but it did not.  Caught 17 yesterday, with 4 keepers, but just 8 today with only one keeper.  A 7/16 oz finesse jig made by the Dutch Manufacturing Company, Republic MO, was my best bait with a few on a 3.3 Keitech and a few on the c-rigged craw.
Fish are up shallow, chasing little one inch shad and small craws.  I can't catch anything deeper that about 10 feet.
    Very little top water activity.
Even with the frosty mornings the water temp is hanging in there at 71.

Was out for a couple of hours this morning.  WT 76 deg. caught a number of fish mostly small, all short - LM and Spots.  Pics representative of better fish.  Spots were fat.  All caught on a Trd hula on 1/4 head in about 10 fow on large chuck rock.  Great morning to be out there - cloudy, cool temps, low humidity.  Bob

I went out this morning because it was pretty comfortable as I have not been since it got hot.  Knowing catching has been tough I got some night crawlers and hit some points around Indian Point.  Caught a few in 25 fow on flat points.  It was nice in that the cooler weather kept the wakeboards, skiers, etc in for a bit.  As big and open as the dam area is I had one guy that just had to ski around me and show off until he fell off 50 yards from me.  I had to laugh.  🤑.

The fishing overall, is tough.  Not many bites.  Best deal for me was fishing a c-rig, it got me a couple of nice keepers.  Caught a few spots out at 30 feet, but the rest were in 10-15 FOW.  8 bass total.  Fished the banks on the main channel, didn't go back into any coves.
Got checked by the warden.  No short walleye in the live wells so they let me live to fish another day.  😃

Dutch and I were out at dawn, cool air temps and a nice full moon.
We had a good crank bait bite last time we were at Cap Fair so we decided to start the day cranking.  Pretty quickly we put 4 in the boat on a small square bill, three 12-13" spots and a keeper smallmouth.  After that, things went south, despite quite a bit of effort and a lot of bank running, we never caught anything else on cranks except a couple of perch and a couple of really dinky bass.
We went to the jigs and c-rig craw and scraped out another half dozen bass, a couple of them were keeper smalls.
We mostly fished gravelly, rocky banks that were not too steep and I don't recall any of our fish being deeper than 10 feet or so.
    Off the water at 1100.
I forgot to note the water temp.  It's August, probably in the low to mid 80's.

NWS took awhile but finally posted that it was an EF-0 twister that was 150 yards wide and touched down East of Y Highway to the West of Branson West in a lightly populated area....thankfully!  They said the wide-spread damages, including the Marina and so many homes to the West and SW was caused by something called  Reverse-side downdraft from the Tornado.  While the actual funnel didn't do much damage, that "Reverse-side downdraft" sure did and it wasn't limited to the immediate area around the CF Marina.

It's been awhile since I gave a report or even got on the forum to check out other's reports.  This time of year I generally have the boat on the trailer and go to my favorite spots on the James or way up by 3M.  This year I decided to keep the boat in my slip in the Indian Point area.
I have been fishing at least 4 days per week but only for a couple hours each time - generally in the early morning or late evening.  The boat being in the slip is nice in that I can fish just short periods of time.  In general I have been fishing in the larger creeks.  Water temperature varies from day to day depending on the night time temps - surface temperature sometimes as low as 55 and somtimes as high as 65.
I been using a 3/16 oz TRD head and 4 inch TRD or a 1/4oz swim bait.  My catch has been 99% keeper LM generally on chuck rock banks in about 10 fow.  There is no indication that the fish are on beds or have been but it's got to be close.  My neighbor has seen a few beds but I have not.
My best time has been just at dark - a couple evenings I caught 8 keep LM and lost that many in less than an hour and then the next night maybe 1 or 2 or zero.
I note that there have been fewer reports lately.  I'm thinking Bill B.  has either taken up golf or is on a worldwide tour.
As you know I love duck hunting and spend Dec - Jan doing that as opposed to fishing.  Duck hunting is never this easy. (see pic)
