Buckshotdad1960
Buckshot, I doubt that you offended Cricket, and you certainly didn't offend Me. I think a little biblical sarcasm accidentally leaked out in my reply, I'm sorry. Please excuse it. Its ok, I’ve had a rather long and stressful day. I think a little shut eye is in order. See you next time. Good night. Tell a thousand funny jokes and no one remembers! Tell one bad one and no one forgets!
FishinCricket
I was just kidding with fishingcricket about the demon possession thing but I see that’s not cool because he’s an atheist and he gets offended by the mentioning of God so I will stop. I don't get offended "by the mentioning of God" at all, just like I don't get offended when they kill Santa Claus or Jesus on South Park (the TV show). I am not an atheist, either.. Dunno what gave you that idea. My grandfather is a pastor, I have spend more hours in the Church than I care to recount, and I have read the bible (and many other religious and historical documents) on several occasions. My theology tends to disagree with mainstream Christianity, but I am most certainly capable of "understanding your speech"... What you fail to realize is that, around here, we don't take ANYHTING seriously, except politics (which is banned here) death and taxes. so to sum up: 1. No angry at you at all (even thanked you for the explanation if I recall correctly), just retorting politely with my point of view. 2. Not an atheist (Ignostic, if I had to pidgeon-hole myself like that .. but I prefer not to) 3. Nothing is off limits but Politics, Death, and Taxes. (well, and like children and such.. You know, good hearted teasing) That being said, I don't think demons would be anywhere near Wrench's house, if they knew what was good for them. As I recall, Wrench hasn't sneezed (or blinked, for that matter) in years... lol Now what the heck was this thread about? cricket.c21.com
jjtroutbum
I actually am dyslexic.. Truth be told I am actually an agnostic/insomniac/dyslexic (I lay awake all night wondering if there really is a DOG), but that's a different topic... Cricket this made my pipe turn into a baccy spewing volcano. Hmmmm... from what I remember reading about former posts concerning the Taney parking lot, are you Taney guys spelling MOMO correctly? Never leave fruit on your dash while napping. Buckshot, The bleach bottle incident, perplexing as it still remains, pales in comparison to some of the tales spun from a book of astrology. I suppose in the rehlm of endless possibilitys a talking snake could have been in need of whiter whites....but simply lacked the apendages to open a gallon of clorox properly. again had to lol Entertaining thread to say the least Jon Joy ___________ "A jerk at one end of the line is enough." unknown author The Second Amendment was written for hunting tyrants not ducks. duckydoty
Did you know that the Nauga has been on the endangered list since the 70's? Upper taney was one of the few places that they maintained a reproducing population. With all of the hatchery improvements and the other development, I guess it was just a matter of time. I am sure the flooding events since 04 had some impact. I recall reading that they were introduced to US and Canada around 1778. They were almost trapped to extinction by the french fur traders in canada. Even as recent as the 60's, their hides were a valued item. I haven't seen a Naugu hide in years. There was a good population of them dweling in the bluff caves above Beaver, Arkansas around the 60's also. The use to say the best boots you could get were made from Nauga's hide. ness
Wow Cricket -- I was just about to jump on you for misspelling agnostic, when a little birdy told me to Google ignostic first. I never knew that, which is what this thread is about. Glad we went full-circle on this without Chief showing up or anybody getting pissed. I go back and forth between calling myself an atheist or an ignostic, but too few people know what ignostic means and I always have to explain the difference from agnostic, so I gave it up and just went back to 'ol reliable atheist as a sweeping generalization for my opinions. It's very close, but is not the same. And I'm always amazed at the amount of people who think "atheist" means "one who worships the devil." Still, you're going straight to Hell when it's over cricket, and I'll see you there. Now what the heck was this thread about?
Wayne SW/MO
haven't seen a Naugu hide in years I believe they simply reupholstered too many cars and boats and the demand drove them to extinction. Buckshotdad1960
Well that’s too bad because you all seem like good people. But I’ll bet in the end you change your mind and don’t go to hell. No one gets to heaven but through Jesus. God said anyone who tries to get there any other way is the same as a thief and a robber. So if your thinking’ you can sneak in through the window your gonna get shot! LOL I never could understand people who choose to not believe in God. Since you can’t for a fact prove his existence one way or another why not just take the chance that he does. That way if you’re right then you’re in good shape and if he doesn’t exist then you’ll never know it anyway so what do you have to loose? For me it was easy. I guess I have always believed in God even though as a kid I chose not to be bothered with it. Manly because I hated church and all that fake religion they preach to you. These preachers are only in it for the money. Their the ones that teach you the lies that keep you from understanding what this life here is all about. No wonder no one knows the meaning of life. Or why we are here. The first lie I ever learned about the bible was that Adam and Eve ate an apple and let sin into the world. If you can not rightly divide Gods word then you have no business teaching it! Judgment starts at the pull pit and I would hate to be standing in these preachers shoes on judgment day. I bet you think Hell is a lake of fire too huh? Not even close! When you break away from the lies and find out the truth you stop being afraid of death. God said the truth will set you free. Thank God for the thousand year millennium. If not for that you all would perish. Let’s move on but remember God has said to you, FEAR NOT, FOR I WILL HOLD THY HAND! I bet your dad teaches the rapture too doesn’t he? Another lie that’s not even in the bible. Tell a thousand funny jokes and no one remembers! Tell one bad one and no one forgets! I spent my time in life as a Gnostic Creationist (look it up), but have since moved on. I certainly don't hold it against you for being at a point in the middle of the path.. You mentioned the Rapture, for instance.. An interesting political story in Brittain some 200 years ago is what brought about the theory of a "second coming" (Rapture).. But this forum is for fishing, and most folks on here take their spirituality pretty personal.. So Ill stop. Good luck to all on your path toward enlightnement.. Remember that, in cases such as these, all roads tend to lead to the same eventual destination. May as well enjoy the path. cricket.c21.com
