Sam Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I understand - and Bill, that's the way you make your living, but bass fishing is a hobby for some of your customers who have thousands of dollars worth of lures in their tacklebox. Isn't it something how devoted we can get to our hobbies? I'm not a serious bass fisherman, but I've spent outrageous amounts on other things like EXACT original parts for antique tractors I restore. That's because I want my work to be the best, not second best - and that's the same with real devoted bass fishermen. Good for them! For me, if you ever see me spend $28 for a lure, any lure - you'll know that I've married a young woman from Asia who's a professional pearl diver, and that she'll be with me in the boat any time that thing gets wet. I may have to tie a rope around her ankle and haul her back in, but I'm gettin' that plug BACK.

I would like to know more about how to use the stick baits and megabass stuff too. Not the colors necessarily, but water temp, wind, water flowing or not, air temp, and where. I think I like fishing because of all of the variables and I doubt I will ever figure it out. Once in a while though.....a lesson gets through to me and what a great day it is. Tim Carpenter
dblades Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I know it is early to start the late winter jerkbait questions, but I am going to buy a few Megabass 110's and had a couple of questions for you. I know you got some earlier this year and wondered where you purchased yours and what colors worked best for you on Table Rock? Tackle Warehouse only has a few colors and I found another site that has most of the colors but they are $27.99. Thanks for any info Bill. Has anyone else had quality troubles with MegaBass baits? I bought some of the smaller jerkbaits, trick and rocket darters, about half of them won't suspend, regularly. The problem is the weights (the three little balls that move back to cast and ARE SUPPOSED TO MOVE FORWARD AFTERWARDS) jam in the rear of the bait and it sinks like a rock tail first. I've never had anything similar happen with LuckyCraft or other high end baits.

I had more than 100 of them at one point, but ended up selling most of them and replacing with LC baits, which are slightly cheaper and in my opinion better baits. Megabass does have the best colors and paint jobs, though, but the fish don't know that. Sammy better than Dog-X Pointers better than Visions Warts better than Griffons, although I still use Griffons sometimes on small creeks I love the Pop-Max
