ollie Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Anyone who is interested there will be a kids fishing derby down at Morse park on March 5th which is a Saturday. Not sure of the time yet, but I think I was told it would start in the morning and run until noon or something like that. The MDC is putting this on and they will be set-up over by the walk over bridge by the ball fields. There are some things in the works for the park down at Hickory. The state has a grant and they will be planting native grass and trees along the river corridor along with something else. Actually, I need to put the word out on that as well. We are looking for contractors that are familiar with type of work. The contractor will get paid for services via the grant which is for $25,000. More details to follow. Bird Watcher Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Sorry Ollie, I was planning on bringing my daughter downt there for a little bit, but I think that the weather forecast is a little too cold for a 2.5 year old. Thanks for communicating it though.
drew03cmc Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Ollie, too far to drive tomorrow man. I wish I had known about this before today, I would have tried to drag my son down there. Andy
ollie Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 Ok, you guys missed out on some cool things! It was a bit chilly I'll give you that, but all the info I learned was worth it. We talked about Urban deer hunt in Neosho, MDC bear trapping, and mountain lions as well. Oh yea, we also talked about the plans for the creek. At least 50 people turned out for the event from what I saw. A lot of people were fishing all through the day. MAKO was there, Audebon was there, and so was a lot of MDC people. Got to finally meet our county enforcer for MDC and that was good. We also anounced our spring clean-up for this year. April 9th on a Saturday starting at noon and lasting till around 3:00. Oh yea, also caught and released around 20 or so trout in the day. chub minnow Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Yep we were gonna do it, but the 2 year old was a little grumpy, probably not the best weather for a fussy toddler. I was interested in their future plans. No need to meet the MDC enforcer, we've met several times
