FlyFishinFool Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 No one can tell you what the water will be tomorrow, much less almost a month from now (although I understand the "getting anxious" part!). Here is the link to the BSSP trout cam (refreshes every minute) for a look at today's water - http://mostateparks.com/page/58502/trout-cam Here is the link to the USGS water information at BSSP - http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/uv?cb_00060=on&cb_00065=on&format=gif_default&period=45&site_no=06923500 The USGS water level and flow rate website always opens with 7 days of data, but you can change the number of days to review (near the top) for anything up to 120 days. Hope this helps! * ´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> `•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((º> .¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> I look in my fly box and think about what should guide my choice of the best fly: the amount/angle of sun on the water, the water temp & clarity, what bugs are hatching, what the fish might be eating, and what worked last time. Then I remember what an old man told me... " Ninety percent of what a trout eats is brown, fuzzy, about 1/2 inch long and underwater."

Hope this helps! Yep, I know it'll be different. Just like hearin what it's like now and then picturing me, my wife, and 3 boys standin in the stream fly fishin. Everybody's old enough and good enough now ol' dad can get in some good fishin. It was a blast teachin them(didn't really know enough to be teachin but did the best I could). Seems like it's been a lot harder waitin for our first trip down there this year. My wifes family has had a place at Circle-J's for about 30 years. She got me into the fly fishin and I was hooked. Just like Bass fishin, Crappie fishin , bow huntin, rifle season, muzzleloader season, turkey huntin, shroom huntin, shed huntin...... Gonna try venturin out of the park down there this year. Be time to learn some more!! "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"

FishinCricket, goin to try some out of the park fishin this year. What kind of flies do I need to tie up for the Niangua trip end of April?? Thanks everybody for the links. Use them quite often. Guess I just like talkin about fishin down there as well as hearin from people that have been fishin down there. Anybody fish there this past week or weekend?? Either in or out of the park? Here's a cool pic from last year. Thats my wife that got me started flyfishin. "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
Ill Trout Bum Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Weaver Tackle Shop puts up an online report every week or so. Might be of interest http://www.missouritrout.com/weavers/report.html Reliable info and great pics!! I'm thankful they have kept the report going all these years. Scott
NoLuck Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Reliable info and great pics!! I'm thankful they have kept the report going all these years. Yeah the report is nice but it is lacking a little something compared to the previous owners. The owners just don't seem to be in tune with Bennett like Jerry and his wife were. They need to get down to the stream more and really get to know how things work there. The reports and nice pics are great and I still look at it all the time but it could be a lot better.JMHO

Jerry and Brenda provided pretty detailed info on stream conditions and what was working. They seemed to get a lot of feedback from the folks that were fishing. Dave
brittsnbirds Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Not to hi jack this thread..... Wondered how Jerry was doing. Last time I heard things were going better! Like you said Rich, plus they don't post as frequent. Brenda spoiled us!!
