GloryDaze Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Spent about 3 hours paddling up from Blue Ridge road this afternoon. Only made it up about .5 mile or so. Caught 6 greenies with the largest on my first cast at 14" Saw plenty of Carp and Gar along the way. The creek is really low, but still some holes to be fished. If anyone in the KC area wants to brave the paddling and dragging upstream to explore and fish this weekend let me know. Thinking about trying again tomorrow or Sunday. drew03cmc Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I enjoy that river syatem , but am craftless at the moment. We will have to get together and fish it this spring. Andy
Wayne SW/MO Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 We used to fish it out past 103rd a few decades ago, about 5 actually and I was in my teens, and we caught largemouths. Never caught anything over 15" then. I'm sure it was almost as polluted there as it was below Bendix. I lived in the area for 2 years and fished it and Indian hard. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
drew03cmc Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Indian has some pretty water around 435 and Holmes. Blue River is a decent drive upstream of the confluence with Indian, since below Indian, the sewage plant pollutes it quite badly. Andy
