Nick Williams Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 How are the water levels and temperatures at Crane right now? Thinking about a trip in the near future. Is there a river gauge anywhere for this creek? Thanks guys! - Nick
John W Kelly Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I was there the other day. The water levels seemed 'normal', but I dont know what normal is. It was flowing, fairly shallow, and clear. The water felt cool, but not cold. I walked through the park and along the upper conservation trail, but hardly saw any fish (some very small ones). Got eaten alive by chiggers or mosquitos or something... It's a beautiful area! Hth
OKFlyFisher44 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I wouldn't recommend going. Wait a few more months for it to cool off. Kill the bugs and overgrowth. Less of a bushwhack. Plus the snakes will be less active... Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
Harps Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Plus the snakes will be less active... He's into Herpetology. That's not going to scare him off.
Nick Williams Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 Haha true that! I don't mind them at all, I'd probably try to at least get a picture or two! - Nick
