Members porky river Posted August 8, 2014 Members Posted August 8, 2014 I am fishing the jacks fork for the first time in a couple of week bringing my own kayak. Just was looking for some info for which floats is better for small mouth fish. Alley spring to Eminence or eminence to two river. I do catch and release small mouths fish. Any thing will help thanks
Kelroy Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I would guess that Eminence to Two Rivers would be the better bet for fishing. Alley to Eminence gets pretty skinny this time of year, not a lot of cover. Further down, you find more eddies and holes to work. I like the stretch right above Little Shawnee campground.

moguy1973 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 A buddy and I did Eminence to 2rivers last fall and did very well. I think he caught something like 25 or 27 smallies and a couple chain pickerel. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Al Agnew Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Eminence to Two Rivers is usually better. Not only is there more good water, but the influence from Alley Spring is lessened, the water is a little warmer, and it's therefore better smallmouth habitat. Although the Alley to Eminence stretch can furnish some excellent chain pickerel fishing even if the bass fishing is slower.
Members porky river Posted August 9, 2014 Author Members Posted August 9, 2014 Thanks for the post guys helps out alot. Does the smallies have any size to them. Or they about the same as any other steam in missouri?
Al Agnew Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Pretty much average for MO streams. I floated it last year and saw but didn't catch a couple of big ones, so they're in there, just as they are in most every stream, but not easily caught.
