jdmidwest Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I was browsing the state's bid website today and noticed the tree clearing portion for the old Camp Zoe is up for bid now. Looks like things are in motion to get the newest state park underway. I came across this article that explains how it came about. http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/dailyrft/2013/11/missouri_buys_camp_zoe_jimmy_tebeau.php "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. ness Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Whoa!! A Grateful Dead cover band playing, and there were drugs around???? I may have to rethink this whole Rock n' Roll thing. John
jdmidwest Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 I was lmao when the feds got leery of his 4.6 million dollar deposits over a few years. Gavin Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Sorry JD but 4.6M in deposits over that time frame is not much. CG expenses probably not much. Acts, expensive
jdmidwest Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 Doing the math based on the article, it averages about $30 a person over 6 years. Just seemed like a bigger ratio when I read the article. Don't get me wrong, I am against imminent domain seizures of any type by any form of government. I know the state bought him out, but he was forced to sell. And it does not look like he was allowed to offer the land to the public for sale and try to get a better price. jdmidwest Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 I recalculated it on a larger calc. Seems like the decimal was off some. $30,666.67 per customer based on the story. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Justin Spencer Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I recalculated it on a larger calc. Seems like the decimal was off some. $30,666.67 per customer based on the story. $30 was right if you divide 4.6 million by 150,000. But the 4.6 was after expenses I would guess, still not much per person.
