Ham Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I'd be real careful about when and where I anchored on the White River, but I understand that White River jons are used lots of other places. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
fishinwrench Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Not telling anyone what to do... but you're better off having a cleat inside the gunnels to lash the anchor line to, rather than having a locking mechanism such as that ON RIVERS.
Members Phil Landry Posted March 18, 2015 Members Posted March 18, 2015 locking mechanism is a hell of a lot faster.... which can be safer! Phil Landry www.theozarkflyguides.com pblandry@hotmail.com
grizwilson Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 locking mechanism is a hell of a lot faster.... which can be safer! That's what the guy with the knife right by his anchor rope said, after i fished him out at Buffalo City. He "thought it would be faster" Just be careful with anchors on river. I tie mine with a break away, hard force it is loose. Do not want to drown for a $10 anchor. Seen too many boats down. g Ham 1 “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
