Annual electric shock survey tonight. Brian Shaffer said 5 boats put in at dark. Zero units tonight. No fog either. If I didn't get up at 5 this morning I'd be out there.

Just talked to a guy this morning that fished the area they shocked last night- caught some good trout including a 20-inch rainbow.  He watched them work the area at outlet #2 for 45 minutes.  He walked down within an hour and caught fish there.

I always thought any fish that was shocked wouldn't be caught for a while but I guess I was wrong.

I used to think that if a trout was caught and released it wouldn't hit a fly again for some time. Last trip to Norfork I caught an 18" rainbow that had 2 very distinct markings, a lamprey scar on one side and very distended vent. It definitely was not a dumb stocker. Well I caught the same fish 10 minutes later in exactly the same spot.
