jdmidwest Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I have noticed that faster action rods tend to be harder to roll cast. I have better luck with medium to slow action rods. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Guest flyfishBDS Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Yeh Brian, what's a Spey Cast but a fancy roll cast. LOl Have you ever watched that Spey DVD out last year by my Pommie mate Simon Gawesworth at Rio. Its freakish _ one of these days Im actually going to learn to Spey Cast in moving water. Ive piddled around in a pond but my one effort on moving water _ well lets say Ive had mother-in-laws prettier than my attempts LMAO Now DH overhead casting is a blast. Cheers Steve
Brian Wise Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Exactly Steve. I have played around with a two-hander but nothing real serious..just enough to really get me going though. I have not seen the video, it would definitely be one to see from what I have heard! Brian My Youtube Channel
Guest flyfishBDS Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Yeh its a cracker despite the fact Gawesworth talks with a funnier accent than mine.lo Ive talked to him a couple of times about doing a Spey School down this way, but he's booked about 2-3 years out.
