fishinwrench Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Is it just where I live, or is it truly a waste of money to pay extra for speedier shipping ? On more than one occasion I received my stuff at the same rate regardless of my chosen shipping option. Once again I feel like an idiot for throwing them an extra 9.00 I should have just ordered another crankbait or something. ? grizwilson 1

I've had things sent two day and overnight to Kimberling City, and it usually takes an extra day. Guess that makes me think it is a location problem.
Quillback Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Usually I'll get the 2 day shipping here in 2 days, and 5 days if I go with free shipping. Weather can sometimes cause delays.
timinmo Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 I'm not convinced the extra money for shipping helps at all. I did order a reel from Japan earlier this year. Received an email on Thursday that it shipped and received the reel on Saturday. That was standard shipping. I was amazed. In country shipping usually takes about 5 days. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
Guest Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Amazon is a good choice, once you've paid for amazon prime. $100 annually, free shipping on anything, no taz, plus you get amzon prime video which is better than Netflix.

Shipping from Japan can be shockingly fast, especially through Ichiban Tackle. Have received one or two (maybe north of half a dozen) packages of JDM baits within a week of ordering.
fishinwrench Posted March 12, 2017 Author Posted March 12, 2017 Shipping as a whole is a crazy business that I obviously don't understand. I started ordering my fly tying materials from Bob Marriot's out in California, because it gets here 2-3 days sooner than when I order from Feather-Craft in St.Louis. And Yamaha parts from Japan often beat orders coming from Wisconsin. It defys logic. dtrs5kprs 1
