Caught some beautiful fish today! 7 bass, 10 longears, 2 bluegills, 1 shiner, and a couple suckers. Not bad for 4 hours, couldn't think of a better way to spend it.

Great photos of nice fish and beautiful water!

Do you have any photos of the shiner or the suckers? If you haven't seen a lot of my posts, I like figuring out exactly what I catch and am interested in what others catch outside of the bass, walleye, catfish, etc. So I would love to see more of the non-typical species :).

You're micro fisherman aren't you? I think I looked at your profile before. I actually meant to ask for specific IDs of these fish since I don't know them but here ya go!

Big or small I love to catch them all 😀. I microfish to catch more lifers but still like a strong tug if I can get one.

I'll have to look at that sucker some more on a larger screen than my phone. You were catching them on a fly? @Ham would definitely be interested in details about catching suckers on a fly.

That second fish is a striped shiner.

Looking closer on a larger screen, sure looks like a hornyhead chub.

@Johnsfolly

Excellent!  You may be correct.  The hornyhead chubs I've caught have a red spot behind their eye.  But that could be a spawning coloration or gender-specific attribute?

It seems to me that the males have the spot and it's more prevalent during the spawn. Yours looks to have some tubercles on his head as well.

There is another chub species like the hornyhead, the red spot chub, that looks just like the hornyhead that is near @chucknduck found in the southwest Missouri streams on the other side of the White river system. I have caught them in Indian creek a tributary of the Elk river and in the Spring river north of Stott's city MO.

I would like to catch suckers on a fly, on purpose. I do catch a chub now and then but in all the years I've fly fished I only took one real sucker, in high discolored spring time flows on a black marabou streamer. while trout fishing.
