Fishing must be real good after the 2/1 opening of the trophy area, since nobody has posted since. Probably haven't made if off the river? :P

Thanks Phil, I've been keeping my on that board as well. For some reason, my work internet wouldn't let me get there. I tried you're link and was able to get there, must have had a bum link. Thought the internet police were freezing me out.

Just tried too- his site or the server he's on is down.

Just talked to a friend who talked to the owner at Newland's- he indicated there's shad when the water is running and fishing is awesome- big fish!

I'm just surprised there wasn't anything on John's forum to the fact, if the story is true.

I have an invite to fish down there Friday- I may take them up on it.

Hey Phill,

No word of any Shad coming through. I've been checking from time to time by driving up by the dam and have yet to see any.

Did net this fish for a gentleman from Cape. I took his fly out of the fishes mouth and another fly which happend to belong to one of my fisherman who had the fish on for a good 10 minutes before it broke off.

According to Newlands, shad have been coming thru, enough to where some guys brought him a bunch of shad for the freezer.

I'm getting this 3rd hand mind you.

As big as shad run is, I hate to start a erroneous fish tale. :)
