  1. Jason, Really enjoyed your report! Sounds just like me and my brother-in-law (minus the numbers of good fish)! Love the handle on that rod by the way! Beautiful! Thanks
  2. Many thanks for the link DaddyO. Hopefully I'll successfully tie a few before the weekend.
  3. Daddyo, You mentioned the CDC puff midge, my brother-in-law and I always notice that small white fly on the lir that often is what the trout are taking on top. We are both fairly new to the tying part of fly fishing and I was wondering if you could give me some tips to try and tie that one? Right now my tying is limited to wooly buggers, midges, and san juan worms. But those usually suffice. Thanks, SA
  4. Wow! Nice fish! I was there today as well, didn't do quite as well as last weekend though. Finally got them to hit a white zebra midge, size 18. Caught around 15 but had to work for them! Almost tied on a scud, darn it! Gonna be my last time there for about a month. Keep the reports and pics comin!
  5. No haven't heard about anyone fishing down there, today was the first day I've been at lir since Oct. Glad to see it is clear finally! I must say that today was probably the best day I've had in awhile, maybe best day ever? no big fish best was probably 15 or 16 inches, but caught close to 40, lots of fun!
  6. I don't know the name of it, but it is the parking lot before you get to the dam. There is a fairly large hole just downstream from it. It has that island that the stream splits and goes behind. There is a rocky dam that stretches across the river at the base of the big pool.
  7. Yea, I was there too. Fished above the rock wall below the grassy parking lot. Caught several fish the majority on a black zebra midge, also had luck on an olive wooly bugger and a red midge. Best time for me was from 3pm-5pm.
  8. I've followed this forum for a year or so, but have yet to join. So hello to all. I mainly fish the lower illinois but will try to get to lower mountain fork, taneycomo, and look forward to the white.
