My dad and I went out crappie fishing on Sunday. Things started out slow but picked up around noon. We quickly caught 7 with the average size being around 14 inches. We decided to come back out around 6 and caught 2 more keepers and several shorts. One of the keepers came in at 17.5 inches. Crappie seemed to be shallow 3-5 feet. in the brush. Muddy bottoms seemed to produce the best fish. We caught them on rigs that consisted of a bobber a small gold wire hook a small split shot tipped with a minnow. The crappie seemed to be holding tight to the bottom so about a 4 foot lead off the bobber was best. It also seemed like the closer you got to the brush the better. (dont be affraid to lose some tackle cause you will) The picture with the 2 crappie is the biggest one we caught next to a 14 incher.
Headed to Beaver to do some bass fishing Sunday morning. This will be my first time fishing on Beaver. I think we are putting in somewhere around Rogers. Anyone out there have any ideas or pointers for the lake.
Thanks in advance
Hello, I am a college student at U of A, but i have lived around Table Rock all my life. I was wondering if anyone knew of bass clubs on the rock. How do I join these? What ones would be best?
Thanks.
