  1. Sorry you didn't do well but it's good to hear I wasn't the only one struggling. I usually go with my brother and get out-fished since he is significantly more experienced than I. Sometimes it's hard to gauge where my skills are when he's yanking fish after fish. I just know my skillset is weaker than his! ;0)
  2. Thanks for all your help. We spent 5 hours around the 64 bridge. We didn't have any luck, though. I've only started seriously trout fishing within the last year, so my skills are a bit lacking. ;0) The drive down from Belton took an hour longer than usual due to the weather. In retrospect, probably should have stayed home. It was very cold. Eyelets and reels kept freezing up. Every time I rigged a different fly I would have to wait for my hands to warm up inside my wool mittens before I could fish. It was serenely beautiful out on the river, though, with big snowflakes coming down and not another person in sight. Would love to spend a day on the big river when the weather is nicer.
  3. Thanks. I'm assuming the river will be up a bit due to weekend precip. Looking forward to it. Monday can't come soon enough!
  4. Taking my nephew down to fish the Niangua on Monday. Have fished Bennett a bit, but never the river and am wondering about wading access. I know there is a bit at the 64 bridge but have never been to Barclay so don't know what to expect. Any recommendations?
