  1. Just a reminder the 19th is next Saturday. Who in? jrbhc8
  2. Centerpunch and I have a few pictures like that taken on our cameras. Seems like every trip I make it down to Taney, there is always someone doing the Taney shuffle. Always a group of 3-4 guys. jrbhc8
  3. I don't know about the springs, but I have been working down in Steelville. The Maramec down there is up and really muddy. jrbhc8
  4. Too early in the week to tell. But I will post something if I can go. jrbhc8
  5. That is what I thought also. The biggest one I have seen was a pregnant female right above the cable at the first bridge early in the season. Probably would of went 8-10 lbs. I'm guessing she stays above the cable most of the time. Maybe the 1.5 inches of rain we received last night will help the fishing. jrbhc8
  6. Did you catch any nice ones? Also did you see any 5 +lbs in the stream. Every time I have been down this year I have not seen and big ones, compared to last year. jrbhc8
  7. Did you do any good rollcast? I wasn't able to make it down like I expected. jrbhc8
  8. I should be good with the 19th. jrbhc8
  9. Good Luck to you as well. It may be a little busy with the unusual warm weather we are having. jrbhc8
  10. I am going to try to hit Maramec in the afternoon on Sat for a few hours. The weather is suppose to be nice, so I am going to work a half day and then head on down. Hopefully I will be able to find a few. So far the outlook on Maramec has been slim. jrbhc8
  11. You can almost always find some smallies in the park year round. You just have to look for them. Another prime spot is at the end of the park where the spring branch meets the Maramec river. The water condition is perfect for smallmouth. I have never caught any in the park, but I have found a few at the cardiac and suicide access. jrbhc8
  12. I wish I could, but it looks like I will be working on Monday. Du Kumm In, what a place to eat. I don't think I have ever had a bad meal there. Never have tried the breakfast though. jrbhc8
  13. Thanks for posting that up Jared. And you were close it was on a black weighted leach.
  14. Nice report. Centerpunch and I made it down last weekend. We did alright, Centerpunch had a good day. I'll have to get him to post some pics when he comes back from Taney. He caught a 29.5 inch Brown, that I believe went 12lbs, if I remember the reading on the bogas. It was a hog!!! Do you know if they have realsed any of their broad stock yet? We only seen a handful of of 5+ lbs in the stream. jrbhc8
  15. I might get a chance to sneak out for a few hours either Sat or Sun. I just have to see how well my studying goes. jrbhc8
  16. FRIDAY After school on Friday I made it down to the park at about 1:00 P.M.. Got suited up and hit the fast water at the cable. Seen many decent fish in that area, and caught quite a few of them, biggest being a 3.5-4 lbs male rainbow. I decided to walk dowstream to see if any fish were down there. I seen a few, but not many. I decided to go back up to the cable and fish until the bell. I managed to find a nice brown, guestimated him at 5-6lbs, and I also had him on for a split second. Before I knew it the siren went off, and I was done. All in all, decent. SUNDAY Went fishing for about 2 hours, and managed to hook up to a few trout. Didn't see as many fish today though. I did see a huge female rainbow above the cable full of eggs. Did anyone else make it out this weekend? How was the fishing? Did anyone see any big fish in the river? jrbhc8
  17. I might be there. I am still deciding if I should go there or drive down to Montauk. If I make it to the Springs it will be at about 1:00 P.M. jrbhc8
  18. I've never fished Montauk in the winter, about how many of their brood stock do they put in the waters for catch and relase season? Also does anyone know if Maramec is going to have an brood stock in their stream this year? I haven't heard. Thanks, jrbhc8
  19. I'll be free in December after the 16th when I get done with classes. jrbhc8
  20. As long as she's a brunette. LOL jrbhc8
  21. I'd be up for a meet as well. As long as I have a date, my schedule can be cleared. jrbhc8
  22. I was worn out as well after that 12 hour adventure. So I went home, and slept for 12 hours straight. It's amazing how many fish we caught down there, being late summer and dealing with the heat. jrbhc8
  23. I fished Westover several weeks ago, so I can tell you a little about it. It's a really nice place, but I think that they are spending their money in some of the wrong places. Lots of 6 inches in the river, so many that you couldn't cast without getting a hit. This makes it hard to drift down for the big boys though. We did catch our fair share of decent fish, but honestly I expected a little more. The biggest fish seen all day was probably 4 lbs, I was hoping to see a few over 10 lbs. We asked the guy working and they said the biggest fish they raise were about 6 lbs last year. Don't get me wrong those 4-6 lbs are nice, but when I'm paying $50.00 to fish I at least want a chance at some monsters. We only seen about a handful of those fish also. Needless to say we paid for a full day and left at 1:00 P.M.. Overall the stream has some potential, but not unless they change some things. I'm not knocking the place, but I expected too much. Just my honest opinion.
  24. Those fish do look small in the pics, but believe me, they were all quality trout. Especially the monster rainbow Jared caught. Right before he hooked it he was talking about finding a monster, and literally a second later he found one!! It was meant to be. Hopefully we can go again soon, and I'll have to take a photography class in the meantime. jrbhc8
  25. People are alwyas breaking the rules down at Maramec. I'm glad that the agents are starting to do something about it. I can't tell you how many times I've seen peole power baiting in the trophy water just outside the park, catching fish left and right and keeping them. A friend and I have reported it a couple of times, but I don't think nothing was ever done. jrbhc8
