  1. Hey Birdwatcher, I forgot to ask you in the last post, is live bait all you use, you sound like my fishin buddy all he use's is minnows?
  2. Thanks Straw Hat Im gonna look at the bobbers Yeah im a show me boy were all from the show me state !!!
  3. Sounds good, Catchin is alot of fun I thought that the walleye's eyes would glow like a deer in the headlights... Im sure you see em when they are comeing up on the line... And Im a big fan of when the moon looks like the Dreamcast boy fishin from the moon before the movie starts... Its just a sliver of the moon that is when I nail the catfish at night. Thats all I ever have fished for at night is catfish off the bank... Never tried for anything else, maybe I will set up camp and stay all night this year with my kids... they would love that... Huck
  4. Im a little confused there Straw Hat ??? umm is it a one of a kind bobber or do you just dont clip the bobber at the top and the bottom letting it slide anywhere it wants... so if a fish hit's it... it will not go under. it will just slide ????? Because i do alot of bank fishin... dont have a boat... Huck
  5. Good stuff Birdwatcher!!! Never have tried night fishin like that. Sounds like you catch more fish in the night then you do the day? can you see the walleye's eye's down there very deep ? That guy was I was talkin about with the black light... he did'nt really like night fishin so of course he's gonna dog it... But I like the way you talk about it sound like it works!!! you got all the goods there for the game fish. So good luke drawing them in not scareing them off... Huck
  6. well I don't know much about night fishing. But I was watching my outdoors that staw hat gave me the web site and a fisherman on there was useing a black light and a bright white light. He said when he turned the white light on the fish would scatter so he turned it off and just used the black light and he started reeling them in... But the problem he had was he could not see very good so what was saveing him was a boat dock he was fishing around had a bright white light on it. so he could see with its help. So your gonna have to have some light out on Stockton because there just is'nt any docks around with light. So my guestion is does the white light scare fish ? He was after large mouth bass, he swared by it that it scared them, but what about crappie, and walleye are very spoooky fish i here feel me in guys? Huck
  7. Good job Straw Hat!! You have been to the lake I hav'nt. I trust your temp reading... Im just jealous that I hav'nt seen or felt the lake. Well I seen her but from the highway. I like the slip bobber Idea from the bank so does your bait hit the bottom? Or do you put a knot in it were it stops at a level you like? Huck.
  8. come on guys is that what the temp. is right now????? I heard earlyer that walleye do a run in 40 to 45 degree water. So I already missed out ???? I hope not... Got my fishin buddy talked into the next warm spell were gonna go... I hope that water aint that warm yet... Nights have been reel cold. lately... was'nt that warm today!!! very cloudy... And in march their talkin MORE SNOW !!! so calm down fellows... I went by the lake and she is way down low I mean low not good... Maybe it will rain now and between when I go ... Huck
  9. I usally hit the white bass around aug. when the water is warm and they are hitting the shad on top water. Around Masters area. with a rattle trap...
  10. good luck tommorrow everybody!!! Let us know if you get in a mess of them. Im gonna try bank fishin at Fellows tommorrow. Huck.
  11. Good job southner!!! sounds like fun... Was the crappie at 40 ft. too ? Did you double up on the jigges or singles?
  12. Seen my uncle at David MacMaster funneral, and he lives at the Master's area he said boat dock was frozen even a good ways out but the deep water was'nt. But we have some good weather all week, and then I heard another cold snap on the 20th. the sun needs to do its thing this whole week.
  13. never got to go ice fishing had my kids this weekend, and had a unexpected funneral. It was in Stockton David MacMaster passed away my uncle. Did'nt fell like fishin. Its gonna thaw out thats a good thing...
  14. hey gobbler, nice to here from ya, are you talkin about 215 bridge? I wanted to try that place because thats were they start the brush piles, you hook around the bridge and there are a few piles around in there. Ive heard around the bridge its good anyway, Is it 60 ft. around there? Thats were their at I hear, But nobody has got on here and said in awhile. But my buddie only likes High Point area. I just dont see them in that shallow of water. But walleye Mike said some friends of his caught some nice walleye in High point, so thats were we proably go and save on gas,
  15. Thanks Straw Hat I watched 2 hours of that web site. Good stuff... yeap 50's for 3 day's in a row...Yes!!! Buddie mite wanna go fishin with his boat if it is that warm. Hows around 215 bridge were the brush piles start? Is that water deep around there never fished there before. Huck
  16. I do miss her!! More than any girl I have ever missed before. The cool mist in my face from the boat splashing, the Bald Eagles flying ever so high but they can see you just fine, and the spring turkey on the bank struting and drumming, and he dont even know your there on the water. And when your staring and gauking at all of that beautiful stuff a FISH JUMPS ON YOUR HOOK!!!!!! "Oh crap thats what Im here for" and you miss that one... now your ready for the next one... Huck
  17. safety first !! got it... I like the ice pick to make a hole with I dont have a auger. But you need a good size hole to pull the lunkers out!!!! Duck tape would work nice on the reel. It would be fun, might try looking somewhere before this weekend. gonna get 54 degrees Sunday. But Im guessin if you threw a rock out there it would proably go right threw the ice. just has'nt been cold enough. Still would just like to see the lake. Kinda miss her...
  18. I smoke Camel Lights, And if that Artic air keeps comein down we might get 6 in. of ice back in shaded coves or around the edges of the lake its something to talk about Dutch no need to curse on here... Ice fishing is interesting to me. sounds like you want no part of it. Buckle down winter is'nt over yet. Plus, nobody else has anything to say on here. Everybody is getting bored sounds like nobody is doing any fishing. Maybe to much ice on the lake? I would'nt know have'nt seen the lake in awhile. Maybe you could tell me Dutch... Huck
  19. yeah tip ups thats the name of them. No I would'nt trust 4 in. Im with straw hat 6 in and I would try it. Im to busy pushing snow to get away and fish. And I hear that we are getting more tues. and wed. oh boy another round of it... Huck
  20. I dont think it is 4 in. yet it wont do it. So you have ice fished thats cool did you have a deal with a flag that flips up when a fish is on? You are from up north? did you do any good?
