  1. stay in the niagua. it's beed good for me.
  2. The story is there has been a few caught over the years. They were let go by pet owners that don't want to kill their pet, but can't afford to own it any more.
  3. Snaggin on the opener was really slow for me and most others. We had one small paddle. They just shut off the water and water temps up the river were 38 -39. I'll get back to em in a couple weeks. Right now I'm busy doing guide trips for crappie and bass on the main lake. Water temps down here are up to 47-48. That's a big differance for fish activity.
  4. I was the guy on the show. Dude it was great. That's me with the chicken!!! Swear to God. They paid me for my fishing knowledge because I'm a guide.
  5. Head up the rivers. Except for the main Osage, it's really cold. I'm finding 48 degree water in my warmest spot. For me fishing has still been on the slow side most days. Few days pretty darn good. We need a few more warm days and most days will be darn good. warts, crawdad plastics, stickbaits. Jack www.FishingLakeoftheOzarks.com
  6. Went up the Niangua yesterday. Bite was on! Didn't fish for crappie much but when I did I caught em.
  7. I would like to get some information from yall in regards to spawning walleye. This is a very closely guarded secret in my neck of the woods. I fish Lake of the Ozarks. I know these few weeks are the prime time of the year, Right? They make spawning runs up rivers into creeks all the way into where they can find running water? Up north, where lots of people actually walleye fish, creeks are illegal to fish. I assume that is because they are so easy to catch. How far up the rivers do they run? Is live bait fished in the slightly deeper holes the best technique?
  8. I have not been up the niangua yet but I am finally catching fish again. It's been a cold winter to say the least. Water temps are in the mid to low 40's. I found up to 50 degrees, but that was only b/c it was the surface temp the other day. It was flat calm and 70. Soon as the wind picked up the water mixed. I hear the water is warmer up the Niangua. I'll be heading up there today to check things out. Crappie are next to brush piles in groups. You might hit 10 brushpiles with not a bite and then finally get onto a group of them. I start out with a little tube, then a bobber and tube, then a minnow under a bobber. Fish slow when you know they are there. Here's the crazy thing, they are on the bank! Or at least right off the bank. I'm still not loading the boat but I am catching enough to have some fish fry's. Still have to catch 3 short before I catch a keeper. But that's Ok, it's fun just to get bit. Jack --- www.FishingLakeoftheOzarks.com
