  1. I'm still deciding on what I need for waders. I'm stuck at the point of extra protection in the seat and knees for kneeling on gravel in low water and/or sneaking up on the fish. So, how many times do you really need to kneel on gravel for whatever reason. Do you really catch more fish if they don't see you coming? I've not been Fly Fishing long and haven't even seen anyone doing this, but it is about an extra 125.00 for this feature! Any comments?
  2. Thanks! I think I'll bite the bullet and buy some Simms or Orvis for around 200.00. Lifetime warranty and then I'll be done! I called one place that sells Hodgeman and I guess the question I asked was over the "order takers" head and he hung up on me. So, for sixty bucks more I'll get a better pair!
  3. Since I'm new to Fly Fishing and I have several flies in my box now, I can't remember the sizes or I can't tell the difference in the smaller sizes by looking at them, so I was trying to find an "actual size" chart to download to learn. Has anyone seen one online? Thanks
  4. If it's not too heavy like Phil is concerned about, I think it fits the bill of what a few people on this thread are wanting including a friend of mine. Thanks again for letting us know about it Bill! Chuck
  5. Well, I just ordered a Measure Net WITH a RUBBER net for 42.00!!! I'll post one more time on how I like it. Thanks for all the replies too.... Chuck
  6. That sounds about right Greg. I have a pair of the WhiteWaters that where fine for about a season and a half and now they are worthless. Thanks
  7. Hi All, I'm wanting to upgrade my waders now and have been reading reviews on the Hodgeman Wadelite I and for the money they had a pretty good review, but it's just a review. Would anyone be using these or have had any experiences with them? I can't get anything from the "order takers" I've called. Thanks again, Chuck
  8. You guys are great! Thanks again John.
  9. Thanks Wayne and Dano. Right now I'm leaning towards that messure net. Appreciate the help..... Chuck
  10. Wow! That measure net is cool! They even have a collapsable one that would be great for putting my stuff in my bag when I ride my bike to go fishing! Phil, they also offer one with a titanium loop and a rubber net. Thanks for the lead BillMcC. What's the material on the lower end ones. I'm guessing nylon which would be fine. Everything is a trade off and I'd trade the rubber for the ease of measuring and releasing. Is it built well and holds up to the occassional brush snag? Also, I see it has a little loop on the handle, so how do you attach it to your pack? I really like that idea of the net design though! Tim What is the style name of the one you offer so I can look at it. I didn't really see it on the Frabill site. Phil Is it ok to post links without permission each time? Thanks again guys, Chuck
  11. Thanks for all the replies guys! I did't realize that the rubber net would be "too" heavy. I guess I need to actually feel one to see if it's too cumbersome to pack around. I do de-barb my hooks unless I forget from time to time and still on the nylon net I get caught a little. Maybe I need to shave them better and to be a better debarber!!! My frustation could be do to the fact that I'm fairly new to Fly Fishin'. Pole under one arm, lanyard from my net pulling tight, fish in the net flopping around getting wrapped around line..... or maybe I need more patience! I'll check the link (Thanks JOrbOb) and the Frabill site again. I might come and see ya Tim next time I'm down by Taney. I'll check out the measure net too. Haven't seen that one yet I don't think (Thanks BillMcC and KS Fly Fisher) If I find one I like I'll post about it or PM ya Phil. Thanks again for the help Chuck
  12. Hi All, This is my first post and I'm looking to upgrade my net. I've been using a nylon type which has worked to get me into Fly Fishing, but I'm tired of tangles and caught hooks resulting in damage to both! I've been reading about the rubber style and different manufactures, Frabill, Fisknat, Brodin to name a few and thought I'd try some recommendations from the "pro's". I hope to find one in the mid-range price. Not really ready for the 60.00-100.00 nets. If anyone has a suggestion I would appreciate it. I guess you need to know I usually catch and release, but occassional string a few. Thanks All, CGallagher
