  1. My dad is now 77 and I've been trying to get him to go out fishing with me. All he ever says is that if he want's fish, he'd go to McDonalds.
  2. What? The storm clouds getting too thick between your ears?
  3. Thanks for your work and the reply as to the outcome Chief. Thanks to all of you who signed. Now how did that warrant thingy turn out?
  4. What? You can't drive a canoe down I-44!!!!
  5. Drive where? You don't think I'm gonna drive all the way up by you and then down to Neosho do you?
  6. I totally agree with this. How can we trust our government to a bunch of losers who tell us, the people, how much they, the politicians, should get paid? I say they should have to live on poverty wages and then tell all us poor folk how to pull ourselves up by the boot straps and tough it out.
  7. Wrong way there Pete. It's more like a little piece of heaven than hell. And I'm in for that float to Praterland and the beerfest. I'll take the front seat of Pete's canoe for the float.
  8. Are the new powers that be in the Capitol lunch room still calling them "Freedom Fries" because they don't understand that "French Fries" were first made in America by a guy named French?
  9. I still ain't seen his pics from the Shoal Creek fiasco.
  10. Look at it this way. Those conservatives you refer to are the landowners along the stream bank. They have their farm bureau folks telling them that they won't stand for any tresspassing by others using the stream. They also get big campaign donations from the other fat cats that stand to gain big money from laws passed that genrally hurts those streams. Then you have the liberal types who like to float and fish those streams. These people try to protect the streams so that they may enjoy their favorite past times and be able to hand off to their grandkids the same clean water etc that they enjoyed. They get any help they can by organization to fight the conservative types who want to take away their rights to float and fish the streams.
  11. Why not go to Shoal Creek?
  12. As a resident of the State of Arkansas and the holder of an annual out of state fishing license for the state of Missouri, for which I paid $49, I am shocked to hear that people who fish the waters of the far southwest counties of Missouri are harassed by armed landowners and law enforcement officers. Having purchased an annual fishing license for the state of Missouri, I plan to fish several of Missouri's streams and lakes. During my trips to Missouri, I will purchase tackle, food, lodging and gasoline. Although after reading about how anglers and floaters of the streams in the far southwest counties of Missouri are treated, I hold reserve to venture to that part of the state. The Supreme Court of the State of Missouri, in Elder vs. Delcour, has granted the right of floaters and anglers to float certain waters in the state without harassment. If local law enforcement agencies and the District Attorneys of the counties of southwest Missouri will not uphold this decision, I cannot see spending my money in said counties and will fish elsewhere. Thank You, Don Paradise Mountain Home, AR
  13. I did post a response about a certain ranch in Crawford being in the path of those fires but I deleted it. Want me to repost it?
  14. Plenty of cicada patterns found on Google.
  15. No, but I don't think it would be a good idea for anyone to go out and light them up just because.
  16. Call the local law enforcement and ask if there is a warrant for you. They can find out and you can get it taken care of from outside the jail house. Kinda hard to dig up facts from the inside.
  17. I would think that if the property owner owns the land on both sides of the river, you can't be on the gravel bar either.
  18. I'd have thought you were older than you are by that response. But then again, there is no music better than from that era.
  19. Sometimes getting a ticket and going to court with all the proper info and law on your side is the only way to win in a case like this. The deputy would have to had been there to explain his side of the case to the court and when the judge throws out the case, the DA and everyone else involved will lay off future floaters.
  20. I could understand it if that rule does not apply to firefighters fighting a forest fire in the park or said "wilderness areaa."
  21. Ever hear the word "Sacrilegious"?
  22. The caddis at Cotter looked white last night when they were flying. They were about a size 16 and all I had were elk hair caddis that I used in WI that were about are a size 12-10 somewhere in there. Gonna have to tie up some smaller flies. Although I don't think the fish were taking on the surface. I think they were taking emergers caught in the film.
  23. I use a double sided Plano box that fits in my vest. I put the flies in one side and an assortment of hooks in the other side.
  24. You should find the statute/court ruling from the MO Supreme Court that grants access to give to any law enforcement officers. They can then look it up or radio in to dispatch to find the true meaning of the regs.
  25. Didn't have a caddis to match. I tried an elk hair caddis but it was too big and the trout just ignored it. But they still hit the bugger.
