Hey everyone,
Newbie flyfisher here looking to try out Beaver Tailwaters. I'll be staying on Holiday Island from August 2nd to the 9th - (supposedly Holiday Island is right by Beaver Tailwaters). I was wondering how the fishing in Beaver Tailwaters compares to Roaring River State Park in Missiouri. I've been to Roaring River Park twice and loved it both times - the only real drawback is the amount of people and lack of casting space, but other than that, it was a great place to kick back and relax.
I'll probably pay Steve a visit at the dam store the first day I get in so I can get a few tips, but, could someone tell me if the fishing would be any good right off the coast of Holiday Island (not so sure I'd want to fish here, as it apparently isn't stocked). I've already learned a good bit by reading the forum, taking notes on what to use and how to fish, and downloading maps of the area. I've read about the regulations and am still a bit confused on some of it, but maybe Steve can clear some things up for me. Anyway, just wanted to say hello to everyone and see if anyone can offer me any pointers. I'm really looking forward to the trip!
