I know this is not a Beaver lake issue, but I just bought the second pair of trailer lights this year. I went with the Blazer led this time (first time to try LED). Something told me to go with a more expensive brand and maybe they won't blow out as quick. There was water damage inside the "sealed" area of the last two that went. I placed water tight sealant around the lens this time to try to keep more water out and coated the clear license plate lens with a clear sealant. It is late in asking, but does anyone have a brand that has lasted years or a trick to get these things to last longer? Do you unhook your lights before launching? Please , any advice welcome.

What is a check??? lol Last time I wrote one of those it had 19__ for the date. Do they still make them?

Someone stole all his fishing equipment and a Kayak off his dock.

There is never too much, MORE POWER has always got to be better, bigger is better. lol I was out last night and had the little light off the back and big light on the front. You could not compare the two in drawing bait, the big light had swarms. I did not draw any fish, but had so many shad out in 97 feet of water the depth finder kept bottoming out at 14 feet. I was able to hand scoop minnows around the big light for bait.

Started this new thread just for the purpose of discussing fishing lights, price and where to get them. I bought one under power fishing light from Academy for $26. It got me to looking around and built my own that still leaks a little, total cost was about around $40 but still 50 times better. The one from Academy had 12 leds, mine has 360 leds .. I have since leaned more and wish I would have bought the 5050 leds instead of the 3528. I also found one on wish.com that has 180 leds with 900 lumens for $26 but I have had mixed results ordering straight from China. I don't night fish enough to go to Cabela's and spend $180 on light but that is the one I like, I saw one on the lake and it does put out some light. Thoughts, questions..share your experience.

If we as a group want to do something we CAN NOT change the law, but we could make our feelings known to this Friday night group. We could show as a group and ask them not to put dead bass back in the lake and offer to take them if they are dead at Lakeside. We could have care instructions printed and pass out to the anglers and let them know we are watching. This would be hard work and take the skill and tack of a used car salesman because no one listens to a mad man. I am not volunteering but could help out in the printing department if we had other members that were going to be there at 2 am. If we had a group there with ice at 6pm then I would be willing to buy a few bags of ice and show up then. How far are you willing to "try to do something".

You sore lipped them all...........give them a couple days they will bite again.

Did you check the local pawn shops? I had an expensive Mountain bike stolen a few years ago and the guy who took it was dumb enough to pawn it and leave a copy of his ID. That had a serial number and and I had a receipt, with fishing equipment other than electronics it is hard to prove. I have read so many articles about props and batteries being stolen from Table Rock boat docks makes me wonder why people leave anything at their docks anymore. I have had break ins in my garage and had to install a better door and dead bolt just to protect the tools and beer fridge. Putting up motion activated lights and big security cameras (not working) seems to have scared them from the house but everyone knows the lake is not patrolled so I guess it is the perfect place for meth heads to steal from, probably from stolen boats. I am very sorry for your loss and there is nothing lower than a thief, but there are a lot of warnings on the forum about not leaving anything on your dock or in your truck near the lake.

That IMO is what makes bass fishing Beaver more exciting than fishing Table Rock or Grand. You might get a 10lb Largemouth on Grand but you won't have that 30lb striper hit on Grand. Not that it happens all the time but just the possibility makes me enjoy fishing Beaver more. I will lay awake at night after losing a battle with a monster on Beaver just wondering how big the fish was......and now I know how big it could have been.
-
Here is hoping Missouri fixes that and goes through with restocking. Table Rock could use some too.....

Wow, what a fish and up shallow also, must have been early this morning.
-
Sorry I just saw this but that was a Bella Vista Lake, dropping beaver 10 feet doesn't expose much dam.

H2O has copied everything else, I wonder why they have not copied the old wiggle wart?

I wish I could paint, there are some great blanks for those out there at $2.50 a piece. If anyone is any good I will provide the blanks and hooks 2 for 1 for both of us.

Wow great night, when you say keepers are you counting 12 inch spots or were they all over 15 inches? Either way that is some really good fishing. By the way be careful at night not throw a sinko in with your Zman stuff, I lost a whole box of lures by doing that last week, nothing but goop. I might have to get out and stalk you two next Friday.....is that boat lit up good?lol

You will be hitting Beaver when it is hotter than my bath water, I don't have much experience on that end but I would suggest you bring some lights and fish after midnight or get up early and hit that first hour of daylight. Near point 5 you can find two areas with deep trees on the map, I have pulled walleyes out of those with drop shots while bass fishing, maybe someone who fishes that area will chime in.

That Striper comment was a jab at an old fight that used to go on this forum....not a shot at anybody. A lot of bass guys even FLW pros blamed the stripers on lack of big bass in Beaver. I would love to find lake records on any fish but all anyone seems to keep are state records. Who keeps lake records in other states? Who would we need to petition to get an state office to start? Make it an elected position with a fat salary and I will throw my hat in the ring.... The Corps used to sponsor clean up the lake days were everyone showed up and filled their boats with trash and brought it into PC to see who could make the biggest stack. I have not seen that for at least two years, could be because I am on the road so much now.

I don't know of any docks to sit on unless you own one or rent a slip. So I would have to say you would be pretty limited on location, but the whites are all over the lake. In the summer months seems the deeper the water the more you can pull. I was over 65 feet last week.

There was a reason for the Fish and Game to put an unlimited take on white bass, they were overpopulating the lake. In years past it was not uncommon to sit and catch 50-100 in a few hours in one spot. I remember throwing crank baits and catching 3 whites to one black bass. Beaver is just a great breeding ground for whites I guess, now there a fewer but still a lot of large whites in the 3-4lb range. I was fishing under a dock light in PC the other night and caught a bluegill about 4 inches and used it for bait thinking something bigger then a white would eat it. Not 2 minutes in the water and a 4lb white tore it apart, so they are viscous eaters capable of eating much larger pray then you would think. Don't think a school of crappie has a chance against a school of whites. Everyone has noticed that we have more and larger bass then ever before with tournament wins larger then any years past and fewer white bass. Some people say it is because of the removal of undersized spots but I believe it is because of all the actions taken by the Fish and Game who passed regulations to make Beaver a better bass lake since that is what the majority of anglers wanted. So in short those people that keep 50-100 whites per night are managing the lake the way the state has intended and I myself believe it has been successful to the end the state was looking to accomplish. With this in mind please quit bad mouthing my stripers.......

Might give that one a try, I am not into the long ones but 3 hours and 3 fish is not asking too much from 1 person and $20 is an easy donation. Are there extras like big fish?
-
Champ 5 years ago I would have agreed but with PC full of bass boats 7 days a week now I would say anything that got a few boats to stay home would be welcome, especially those that catch 5 keepers every time out. 40 boats used to be a big tournament, now it seems every time I put in at PC even on a week day after 6pm there are that many boats at the dock. I myself would fish a small jack pot if it was biggest fish takes all since I have always thought that gives everyone a fair chance regardless of their skill set. Is there a day anyone knows there is not a tournament? I would like to know so I could plan my night fishing around that day.
-
Man there is a lot of heated debate here, the original point here that I was upset about the waste of the fish not the fact they died. Heck I have never ate a live chicken but I do eat a lot of chicken. After a crappie tournament you have 100% dead fish but 0 of those fish are floating around the dock the next day. I myself don't like bass but my dogs have to eat also so they have had some fried bass from deep hooked fish I have brought home. I have no problem with someone who keeps a winning 20lb bag if they enjoy eating bass, just don't waste the fish was the point. It is like shooting squirrels, it might be fun but you have to skin them and cook them afterwards. To me catching a fish and throwing it dead into the water is the same as shooting a deer and leaving it in the field. JMO but if they keep all the bass just makes more room for stripers.

Ok, posted this in the wrong spot so here we go again. this a video on making your own lights. Wished I had seen this before spending $35 at Academy on one that does not put out very well.
