Havent tried for cats this summer yet. But last year around this time we had good luck with just live bluegill. Caught several 10+ lb flatheads. We were using the biggest blue gill we could catch too, biggest cat was around 16 lbs.

I texas rig mine with a 4/0 hook. Anything dark colored. Fish them in brush piles around docks or off points.

Ill be at the lake for the next week and ive decided to finally start night fishing. Ive always been a strictly morning fisherman but I think its time to switch it up. What are some tips you guys have for a first time night fisher? Do u fish the same spots you would fish in the mornings? Thanks
