  1. Hey Bill welcome to the forums. Big clear water does take some getting use to, hang in there though and just keep floatin around lookin for em and you'll find em. I love fishing up the river a bit in the cape fair area so if you havent explored that part of the lake i'd say its a good place to start.
  2. I lived in kansas for a while when i was young and remember my father taking me out to muddy creek beds to dig for worms. I cant for the life of me figure out what type of worm they were, but they were very very active, as large as a nightcrawler (or bigger), and they seemed to be easy to keep. I also remember dad using small amounts of the soil as a type of chum near our boat...not sure why! Anyway, i was curious if anyone knew what type of worm they were and if there is a place anywhere near the Springfield Area (i would drive an hour to be able to dig a couple buckets full) that i could dig them. Thanks! ~Jonathan
  3. Hello Ozark Angelers memebers! I decided to join here after browsing the site on and off at work for the last couple of weeks and being impressed by the wealth of knowledge. My name is Jonathan, I'm 26, been married for 5 years, have a 3 yr old daughter, live in Springfield MO, I currently work in finance at Commerce Bank but i sold and brokered various types of boats (both large and small) for several years before deciding to move on and am stil very tied to the local marine industry. I'm here to gain some insight into the local lakes surronding the Springfield Area, I am very familiar with most of the larger lakes but somehow places like Lake Springfield and Fellows Lake have always been off my radar. I am hoping to start introducing my daughter to the outdoors this year and would love to find a good spot to sit and catch a cooler full of perch (i'd also like to fill my freezer up!) I love to find good sized Crappie and White Bass and i LOVE to overnight for catfish when i get the chance. Can't wait to get to know you all. ~Jonathan
