  1. As to your question about what to use? Bring plenty of jigs, the rip-rap takes em about as fast as you can tie them on. Here's what I do to save a lot of jigs, I use the PLine Floroclear brand 6 pound test with a palomar knot. The combo is super strong, set your drag so when you snag into one of the big buffalo that are schooling in that area, you will be able to get your jig back. As for weight of jigs I use 1/8 to 1/4 ounce. I prefer chartreuse or yellow chartreuse. They bite really lite, you'll just sense the extra weight on the line. Good luck and let me know if I can help you.

  7. A few hybrids are being caught below Truman as long as they are running some water. I caught this one today on a road runner, along with 2 white bass. This one was 7 or 8 pounds
  8. Well here is the promised fishing report for below Truman, no walleye today for be but I did catch 2 white bass, one nice one and one small one. I also caught one Hybrid about 7 to 8 pounds. I caught it on a chartreuse 1/4 ounce road runner with a white curly tail body. I did talk to a couple local guys who had been catching walleye every once in a while this past week.
  9. Thanks Wayne, I'm gonna try below Truman tomorrow morning, hopefully pick up a couple male walleye.
  10. Ok I'm tired of pouring and painting jigs, I'm heading below the dam tomorrow morning, providing my back isn't hurting too bad. I'll post a report good, bad or ugly! Oh if any of you guys live near Pleasant Hill and need jigs, I'll pour you up some, you provide the hooks. Kenny
  11. I feel your pain Roger...I'm trying below truman tomorrow.
  12. Thanks guys for answering his question. I've thought about Stockton for pre spawners too.
  13. Is anything going on below the dam? Is the water level too low for anything to be moving up out of BS? Thanks guys
  14. Is anyone doing any walleye fishing below the dam? Any luck? Just trying to see whats going on without wasting half a tank of gas if nothing is happening yet.
  15. Seth, I ended up going below Bagnell and got the bait I needed, they were running lots of water and the spoonbill were stacked in there, had to wait till they passed to keep them out of my cast net. Anyhow I fished the lower Osage below the Maries. We caught some hybrids in the mouth of Cadet Creek, right below the Maries. Thanks for your reply Kenny
  16. Hey folks I'm looking for a place to catch some shad using a castnet on the lower Osage, I'm trying to keep from driving to Bagnall. Can any of you catfishermen give some advice? I'm talking below the lock and dam.
  17. I was wondering if you got your Sea Ark sold.
  18. we fished the old river channel hard today, foul hooked a 25 or so pound spoonbill and a 15 or so pound gar. I saw 2 crappie caught.....pretty dead. Where is a good place to get shad, I think I'm gonna take up catfishing.
  19. Josh, I was down there monday and it was dead. I fished the south side and the only fish I saw landed was the one I foul hooked. I did see some guys jigging in the old river channel. I don't know if they did any good or not.

  21. I live close to a lake that is heavly stocked with walleye. The walleye spawn on the rip-rap face of the dam. I have caught a couple of these spawners using shallow diving crank baits but they are not all that effective and they are just too costly to lose in the rocks. I was wondering if anyone has used lighted slip bobbers fished real shallow with big minnows with any success? I'm limited to fishing from the bank. The walleye are there in numbers when they are spawning. Any help or advice would be greatful. Kenny
  22. I'm thinking about buying one. It is a G-3 1860 with a yamaha 90 4 stroker. A little concerned about the Bear trailer after reading the above comments.
  23. It looks as if we may buy a small place in the Forsyth-Branson area this coming summer. Any suggestions on where to live to take advantage of the fishing but avoiding the Branson traffic? From what I understand fishing is better on Bull Shoals then Table Rock, is that correct? Are there many boat ramps on upper Bull Shoals? Any input or advise is welcome. Kenny
  24. I used to catch a few sauger and walleye there on jigging spoons but the bottom is very trashy with rebar...
