  1. Go for it Thom....
  2. I would be surprised if you can get an individual policy less than what your employer will charge. Also you are somewhat protected by your group plan should you have a catastrophic illness or injury in that it would be difficult for the plan to 'drop' you. Not necessarily so for an individual plan.
  3. Let us know how that works out for you. I'd be interested to know myself.
  4. I use Poly leaders and furled leaders exclusively simply because I like the suppleness of them. I like RIO tippet material. Just seems to work best for me. Dano
  5. Great Job....thanks for sharing the adventure.

  15. It's always great if you can hire a guide on new waters even if its just for a half day. The guide will help you with local patterns, direct you to holding areas, techniques, and if new to fly fishing help you with casting and learning to mend. There are many great fly fishing guides on Taneycomo and some frequent this forum. Have a great time on this Ozarks jewel and let us know how you do. Dano
  16. Ditto these comments.

  20. Yes sir opening day for C and R is a hoot. Bet I see you there again Buzz.
  21. Here is a better link to the Brunsell Lil Streamers at Dorber. You can't beat these rods. They double the guides so there is less friction on the line thereby allowing you to shoot line easier. Designed just for the creek you were talking about. They also turn their own rod blanks at Dorber and are assembled in their plant in Flippin. http://www.dorber.com/flyrods.html
  22. I have to throw a plug in for the Cabelas Three Forks Rods. They really are sweet, cheap and throw nice line. Around 40 bucks. I have 7 ft. 3 wt. Love it. The ultimate small stream fly rod is the Lil Streamer made by Dorber in Flippin, Ark. Check them out at www.globaldorber.com At the site click on Lil Streamers shooters. You can even get a 4 1/2 ft 5 weight. This is my number one small stream rod. Great customer service too. Dano
  23. Flyflinger Michael has not been able to post for some reason but he passed this on in an email to me for you. "I fish my Finesse 3 pretty regularly and have never had a problem. In a tight spot and small stream he doesn't want/need much weight anyway. Another rod to look at would be the TFO Chronicle 3WT. That's probably my "go to" rod right now." Maddog
  24. Another possibility, however slight, is that your fly is twisting the tippet on retrieve possibly causing the fly to catch the tail of the bug when you begin to lift it from the water . One solution to that would be to use a Duncan loop. See the following link. It allows the streamer or even nymphs, bass bugs, etc to swim "free" When a fish takes the hook, it pulls the loop closed at the eye. A great knot for big meatier flys. 25. Er, yeah I did....
