Journey of the Forsaken: An excellent detailed discussion with great graphics about in-situ coal bed gasification/hydrualic fracturing. Step by step processes explained, chemicals listed with thier purposes, geological strata/faulting explained, etc... It is a great article by an industry knowledgable person that has expereinced it in thier own region of Gasland`istan, America. http://www.journeyoftheforsaken.com/fracpage.htm

What did I say would happen when the AR gov't website provide in the previous post began to get hits??? My last attempt to load the oil & gas commission viewer of "gas wells" in Arkansas,,,,,it would not load,,,,,surprise,,,surprise. Here is the homepage if the morally bankrupt enities (you know who you are) ever get the viewer back on line,,,,,just type "gas wells" into the search box. Maybe,,,just maybe our oh so great protectors of the commonwealth will bring the "geo-viewer" back on line. pure garbage,,,,,,I've been on this earth long enough to know it when I see it and have the earned the right via many years of expereince with this same forms of corrupt trash, to call it like I see it. Arkansans do not even rank equivalent to banana plantation workers,,,,,,this should be referred to as a banana republic or for what is has become corporatism (facism). good luck & my sympathy to those living at ground zero of this "schock & awe" criminal ignorance being perpetrated against the people & thier lands. http://www.geostor.arkansas.gov/G6/Home.html

An AR.gov website that illustrates just what criminal exploitation of the land looks like in graphical format. Zoom in/pan around of what globalization is doing for arkansas,,,,,,destroying it solely to benefit a few. All these billy bob named gas companies/drill companies/petroleum companies are just legal subsidiaries to one master,,,,,Halliburton. I wanted to pass this observation/function along about the webpage provided below. Hold your cursor over the earth shaped graphic & then click "satellite map". The wells are highlighted,,,,,then just zoom in for their exact locations. Also under the same menu click on "live maps" & then expand the "AOGC" list, click all that subjects that interest you,,,,,like locations of disposal wells/oil wells/capped wells/etc...... It is a very disturbing map for those that once enjoyed the Ouachita mountains/Ozark mountains/lakes/streams. Now watch dirty money/corrupt politics go to work and shut the website down shortly after it begins to recieve hits from the viewers of this post. http://www.geostor.arkansas.gov/G6/apps/app_aogc/ Here is another informative website discussing gas fracking,,,hosted by none other than the oldest taxpayer funded death lab (those that design WMD's for profit) in America. Lots of gas fracking .pdf file studies,,,,,but remember this facility is absolutely pro-industry. Could care less about the general population (commonwealth) in the gasland regions. http://www.evs.anl.gov/project/dsp_topicdetail.cfm?topicid=18

Two Caught Dumping Chemicals Into River!
two fish replied to Gary Lange's topic in Conservation Issues
There is only one group/industry that can be caught dumping chemicals into a stream/river/lake that kills fish/other aquatic life and not be named/mentioned/not charged. Since little info is provided, it allows everyone to inject the latest highly publicized drug war propaganda,,,,,,punks with grandma's fruit jars making meth. Anyone every consider why the FDA (our alleged protector) does not simply ban the OTC sell of main precursor drug used to make meth,(pseudoephedrine's)?? That would shut down 90%+ of most all the meth labs, go ahead give your representatives/FDA a call an ask that simple question an listen carefully to their response. No one is going to die from a runny nose due to the lack of over the counter access to psuedoephedrines,,,,,but I guarantee it will not be banned. Everyone needs to hear their reason why, it is all about the money. Their reason is not about us on the front lines in our communities battling the effects of meth making/use/abuse. Since the "suspect identities" are left for the reader to guess,,,,,,I say that the "dumpers" were petroleum company gas well drillers/frackers. That is the only group/industry that can kill everything in their path with unknown amounts of benzene derivatives and does not have to answer to it,,,,,,,,yet. Anyone seen a gas well holding ponds/holding tanks/well pads in use under infra-red video (like law enforcement/military utilizes in helicopters)?? Just think the volatile benzene direvative fumes that you can see while fueling your vehicles,,,,,,x 1000 for days/months. Think fracking fluids/produced water/produced gases,,,,,one well pad/holding pond/holding tanks is equivalent to a large scale illicit meth lab operating absolutely reckless. They "fume off" the volatile benzenes into open air for all to breath/touch/eat. Most all state (DEP) agencies track meth lab locations as a contamination source,,,,that same agency cannot even spell the word benzene/heavy metals when related to the thousands of gallons used in this gas well exploitation. Neither operations mentioned above are healthy to the local environments/communities. -
Another documentary about the toxic exploitation of America (Land Out of Time). Listen carefully to the statement by a Rocky Mountain sportsman at the end of the movie trailer. The toxic results of criminalistic greed is now spreading like an airborne disease,,, sportsman/outdoors/ranchers/farmers/rural property owners-renters,,,,,,a.k.a....anyone that gives a darn about the people & the land had better wake-up/stand-up or be prepared to carry the burden of the consequences of selling out. Sorry to be so harsh,,,,but the industry is playing for keeps. http://www.alandoutoftime.com/watchthetrailer.html

I performed a quick patent check to see if any processes of converting coal to gas at the site of the coal bed had been applied for/issued. This is one of the "hits' I received,,,,thought everyone might find of interest. SITU COAL BED GASIFICATION United States Patent 3794116 http://www.freepatentsonline.com/3794116.html I think the chemicals/catalyst & their ratio's are one of the weak legs the industry is trying to stand on as being proprietary, not just as a fracking mixture,,,,,,but more importantly a reacting (gas producing) mixture. As you read the patent & other similar ones begin to compare what is said, versus what your personal experiences have been within these gas plays. This is the real truth the industry does not want the poeple to understand. The patent process has been known for several years,,,,but the industry could not get past the Safe Drinking Water Act regulations. This one patent explains why the this frack/react process would be impossible to comply with the SDWA.

Spring River Below Mammoth Spring State Park
two fish replied to two fish's topic in General Angling Discussion
You are correct,,,,,I witnessed a significant canoe hatch that day while driving along the bayou. It was odd to not see anyone wading around the highway bridge area on the park side and only one person bank fishing from the campsite area below hwy bridge while I was there. We both were catching fish and staying cool. -
What happened? Where did everyone go?? Is it something I said?? ha!! I was going to hold back some of the heavy data for rainy days,,,but time is of the essence. Once they frack/react a well, the suitability for safe human habitation is all but over for that piece of land. To better understand what is occuring in the Fayetteville gas play, one only has to research the studie(s) done within the more developed Barnett gas play in Texas. http://www.edf.org/documents/9235_Barnett_Shale_Report.pdf There is more to the story that just the fracking & reacting. Toxic drilling fluids remaining in well/well casing ruptures/millions of gallons of toxic waste water/leaky or substandard containment ponds/increased air-soil concentrations of "fugutive" volatile petroleum derivatives (benzene's & radionuclides)/high pressure gas pipelines close to residents-schools-cities-businesses/compressor stations/noise/heavy equipment-dangerous chemicals constantly being transported in & out of these regions/on & on the list goes. It is the definition of criminal "exploitation" in my opinion,,,,only a few are financially rewarded when all is said & done. The "Commomwealth" (small land owners/renters) in these rural gas play regions enter into or remain in poverty, just like the coal mining communities (commonwealth) of the Applachian Mountains.

The old boat looks rough, but I've kept the interior dry and have never felt a soft spot in the flooring. But I realize glassing the trasom may be more than anyone would want to tackle by the over-all appearance. Let me ask this if I can, what are the specifics on types/brands of fiberglass resin/epoxy/cloth that someone could use if all other variables were solid? Are there various types of marine grade plywood? Is there a particular benefit to using epoxy versus the regular fiberglass resin? thanks

Just a brief report to say the water sure felt good wading below the Mammoth Spring State Park. Caught five trout all around 12" in a very short amount of time on #2 Mepps spinner. A great place to spend a hot summer day and catch a meal to.

Thanks for repsonding. I'm near the city of Pocahontas,,it is about 25 miles west of Jonesboro. The distance sounds drivable. Attached are a few pics,,, I can send more pics, once I get them reduced below the 2 MB size. thanks

Here are some links to studies & opinions of known enviromental conditions, both natural ocurring and man-made (injected) chemicals/metals/radionuclides that comes with gas well fracking. All links were active as of this morning August 02, 2010. A link on ProPublica website (first paragraph blue text) to the New York State release of the known chemical used gas well fracking,,,,the .pdf file is large, but worth down loading: http://www.propublica.org/feature/new-york-drilling-study-a-big-step-forward-1022 http://www.epa.gov/radiation/tenorm/oilandgas.html http://www.philly.com/inquirer/opinion/88797112.html http://www.mefeedia.com/watch/28577813 http://drillingsantafe.blogspot.com/ GAO Audits of the BLM gas leases: http://www.gao.gov/docsearch/locate?searched=1&o=0&order_by=rel&old_keyword=&ft=&rpp=&order_by=&order_in=&search_type=&add_topic=&remove_topic=&add_type=&remove_type=&add_fed_type=&remove_fed_type=&add_fed_desc=&remove_fed_desc=&add_year=&remove_type=&keyword=BLM%2C+drilling+leases What is really happening deep below our feet,,,,,a chemical-catalytic reaction using the earth as a reaction vessel: http://www.technologyreview.com/Biztech/18119/

I've got a 1972 Sunbeam fiberglass boat that the wood in the transom has gone bad. I have already removed the motor, lifted the top and removed the old wood transom. There are a couple of small holes to patch and then install the wood and re-glass it to the walls/floors. I will buy the materials and would be willing to bring the boat to someone within a reasonable distance from Randolph County Arkansas. Can provide images upon request. I can re-install the motor/cables/etc.. Just need the transom glassed back in & the top secured back down. Will pay cash and/or trade for tools/gear/etc... I've developed a crippling the disease (NSF) and cannot finish the fiberglass job myself. thanks, two fish

I'm going to try my best to restrain my viewpoint about the toxic exploitation of the lands & the people that live within or down stream from these fracked coal shale "gas plays". Below is a link to a concentration of websites created by those on the front lines of these fracked regions. I'll let the various websites speak for me & many others. http://www.mixplex.com/opinions.html One possible way to document what is or what is not happening to the water aquifers in these regions. Legislate/mandate rural water well testing before a property can be sold. I have much,,,much more data about this. http://www.nj.gov/dep/pwta/

Thanks,,,,,,I'm in Randolp County. It has a little of everything offered here in the Ozarks,,,,rivers/lakes/hills/flat lands. I'm accustomed to fishing the lakes/rivers located in the central and some southern area's of the state (Millwood Lake was my last haunt), but am adjusting to fishing these cooler clear water rivers/lakes here in the eastern ozark mountains.

I'm a long time Arkansas resident and have fished/hunted for 40+ years in various regions of the state. I'm currently residing in a NE Arkansas county that has five rivers running through it. My forum ID "two fish" was a earned identity in this region, from years of being asked "how many did ya catch today?",,,,I would/still will answer by counting on my fingers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,,,,,then I'll pause for second as if I'm calculating,,,,,then I'll hold up two fingers as reply "two" total. The locals have since labeled me "two fish" and it has stuck. I love any kind of fishing available in Arkansas. Even though not familiar with fly fishing,,,,I would love to learn the art of it. Look forward to discussion about one of my passions,,,,,fishing. two fish
