  1. Long overdue to report how I did.... but better late than never! We tried so hard to get a flyfish bite while wading below the dam but only had 1 dink to show for our efforts after an entire day. Next day we took the easy road and launched the boat and caught tons of small 'bows dragging night crawlers just below fall creek. Good time that salvaged the trip. Maybe better luck next time with the flyfishing...
  2. I'm from up in KC and looking to start getting down to the NFoW and Bryant Creek to enjoy some trout and smallie fly fishing. I'm an avid backpacker and would love to do an overnight float and camp along the water 1 night. If I stop and fish plenty during the day, how high up should I go to get a good 1.5 day trip in? Is Bryant even long enough to do an overnight float? Also, what are typical rates for shuttle service? I have my own canoe and yak's so I'm only needing to be hauled up river and dumped off. Thanks for any info!
  3. Sounds like a pretty good trip, I'd sure like to stumble into a 'bow like your son did! I do have a navionics chip for my dash mounted GPS, haven't checked to see if they have Taneycomo on there but I'd guess that if they do, navigating may be pretty simple.
  4. Thanks for the advice, I'll tow her down. Sounds like a great way to get away from the crowds; plus if I cant figure trout out I can go for some smallies on the lake. I'll make sure to post up how it goes before you guys head down next weekend.
  5. First off I want to thank you all for the info found in this forum. I've learned a lot on what to expect, how to catch fish, taneycomo etiquette, etc... by just crowsing through the topics. I'm planning to come down this coming weekend just to get away from the city and relax a bit; its been aprox 5 yrs since Ive been to Taney. I have a 18' bass boat but would rather stick to wading if possible and not have to worry about boating hazards being that its my first time on the water there is so long. But the last thing I want to do is go down there to find all generators running and no wadable water. You guys think I should tow the boat down just to make sure I'm not stuck without reasonable fishing for the weekend or will I be ok and find some wadable water?
