  1. Oh I gotcha! Yup, Aaron is on the team. I think this is the first year for both of us.
  2. Actually I am.. Do you go to MSU?
  3. If you could only have 3 different rod and reel setups to use for largemouth bass what would they be? For me I was thinking a worm setup, a crankin setup, and then maybe a Spinnerbait/buzzbait combo. What would you guys choose?
  4. Anyone go out and shed hunt in the winter? I'm planning on going out for the first time this winter and trying my hand at it. Anyone got any tips or tricks that they wouldn't mind sharing? I know I've got several months before deer start droppin their antlers, but I'm bored and figured I'd post this up here. Any pics of past sheds you've found would also be great.
  5. I'm willing to bet that this has been asked about on this site at least once, but I can't seem to find a thread. What are some local bass clubs around the Springfield, MO area? I'm really interested in learning about tournament fishing, but have absolutely no tournament fishing experience what so ever. I'm looking for an easy going club that would be willing to give me, a college student and non-boater, a chance. If any of you guys have any advice or could steer me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Brent
  6. Vicious Line is great! I had never heard of anyone I knew using it so I figured I'd spool it up and give it a try. Works great! Stands up well to abrasion. Casts well and it's fairly cheap. I'll countinue to buy it.
  7. wishes he had a boat.

  8. Thanks for all the input guys! I really appreciate it. I've only been bass fishing for about 2 years now and I mainly want to go on a guided trip to pick up some pointers and to have access to spots that I'd never be able to fish on my own (don't own a boat...). I'll definitely be looking into this more within the next few weeks. Again thank you for all of your input. I'm really starting to like this forum! Brent
  9. My parents were thinking about giving me a guided bass fishing trip on Table Rock for my birthday in October. Would a guided trip be worth the money this time of year on Table Rock? Will the bass be biting very well around mid October? I know bass usually have a descent feeding frenzy in mid to late fall, but would I be hitting it a little too late? Also, I was wondering if you guys knew of any good guides at a reasonable price. Thanks!
  10. Yeah we're pitchin a tent. I'll check those out. Thanks gotmuddy!
  11. Sounds like a great time! I'll definetely propose the idea to the guys, although they aren't all as into fishing as I am. Is a lot of good scenery along the way? And don't worry I always catch and release! Anyone else got any other places for me to check out?
  12. Some buddies and I are planning on taking a camping trip within the next few weeks somewhere in northern Arkansas. We're wanting to get a good roadtrip in before it gets too cold. Looking for locations to camp within an hours drive of the Missouri Arkansas border. We'd be driving down from Springfield, MO so we'd need somewhere within an hour or two of the MO/AR border. We just want a good place for a good Ozark's adventure. Preferably near good bank or wade fishing, Mountain Biking, Hiking, or Rock Climbing locations. Any suggestions? We'd even be open for suggestions around southern Missouri, we just wanna get outside.
  13. Lol Yeah, the name is kind of an inside joke between me and a few buddies lol. I definitely want to make a trip to the Gasconade, I've heard some great things about it. Btw great lookin smallie in the pic!
  14. Hey whats up guys? I'm fairly new to the area and I'm wanting to fish the Sac rivers. What are some good points near Springfield where I can enter the river and start walking the bank? I'm mainly looking for smallies and largemouth, but I'll take any tips for any type of fish that can be found in these waters.
  15. Hey hows it going! Just stumbled across this site the other day so I figured I'd join. I'm fairly new to fishing. I've been chasing largemouth for about 2 years now. I'm originally from the Kansas City area, but I now live in good ol' Springfield as a student. I want to start catching some of these beautiful Ozark smallmouth I've heard such great things about. Any pointers on where I can find some good bass fishing around the Springfield area would be greatly appreciated.
